yeah 044 is external, the nismo ones i've seen for >600 so they're out. 33 GTR pump will drop straight in but i'm expecting Nissan to give some sort of shit pricing.

What trouble did you have with the 040 Abe? Hardest part of the install looks like positioning it close enough to the bottom of the tank.

sscond hand gtr pumps go for $100-$200, modify the cradle a bit, and youre sweet. can buy brand new walbro pumps for about $160 from ats, basically the same to fit as gtr pumps, minimal mods and it goes right in.

Yep I highly recommend the Walbro 255lph - had one in my S15 and my R34. The 040 I had in the S15 sucked up silt off the bottom of the tank and blocked, then failed.

Pumps with socks (like the stock pump and the Walbro) are better designed for Nissans IMHO.

Also, got camber? I have some camber arms ordered to address the problem, but it looks pretty slammed at the moment :D

Anyone know roughly what a 33 GTR fuel pump is worth? Or should I just drop in a 040.

i have an 040 was already modded to the cradle so i just dropped in :D

are you feeling the blue or the beige? im leaning towards the blue at the moment.

getting them to fit is f**king simple if you have a dremel and hose clamp. i was a bit confused when i did mine, but then i looked at went "ooooooh", 30 minutes later it was in the tank.

+1

i rate the walbros, very simple to install, and they do their job well. there's a lot of mixed opinions around other areas of the forum on these, but we chose it over the bosch for its similarities to the std setup. installed, tested, and proven good performer.

fuel pumps arent hard to install if your not afraid of modifying the cradle, getting a few cuts on your hands from the fiddly bits around accessing the tank, and of course inhaling petrol fumes :D

some like to go that bit further and rewire for better voltage

would look even better with some 25mm spacers ;D

only concern I'd have with the wallbro pump is whether or not it flows more than the stock gtr pump - i know this isnt much of an issue till u go over 300kw but I'm leaning towards the nismo (125% flow rate) rather than a bosch

what splits are u getting steve? type R's ?

-D

the stag has had an 040 for 4 yrs now, no issues.

the rb26 sedan has an intank gtr pump and fitting an external walbro 305lph unit - $160 good price

040's are around 190 but you can get copies for around 100

    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
    • Very hard to make out what you mean, is it the squarish hole with redline shockproof (probably) under it? Is that pic from on top of the engine with the firewall to the left of pic and engine to the right? Either way, spray the area liberally with degreaser and try again, maybe circle the part you are worried about
    • Hey all, Noticed I have a hole on top of which im guessing is my transfer case/gearbox. I can see it from the middle of my firewall looking down. S1 R33 gtr Any advice or can pinpoint what this is/caused this?
