My mum told me to f**k off 10 years ago, Haven't made contact with each other in that time. I'm happy with how my life is atm so no point changing anything.

If you want to try and see ya dad then give it a go.

As the title of the photo suggest it is a Mazda Roadpacer. Yes believe it or not, they made Kingswoods here and shipped them to Japan where they fitted 12A rotaries ....stupidest move ever, but they are worth a mint if you could find an original one.

He may be at a point where he is too embaressed to contact you Craig,

Just do it man - You don't have to be 'happy family' with him - but atleast you will have no regrets in formally meeting your blood father. Imo you got nothing to loose and everything to gain in just 'meeting him'. Like I said, you don't need to be happy family but atleast give it a go.

very solid advice IMHO...goodluck with it Craig

I've heard of the kingsy with a 12A in them,

Imagine that tourqueless poor little 12A trying to tug along a frame of a kingswood lol

theres a couple of jackie chan movies from the early 90s/late 80s that has a bunch of kingswoods in them... i pissed myself laughing when i saw them in a 'high speed chase' (well actually the coke came out thru my nose but u get the idea)

yeah, seeing as i have found the right staircase to climb (so to speak)

ill just stand here for a while and think about what im gonna say etc etc

ill get there, just a few other things i gotta concentrate on atm

lol Cheers guys,

Its sure is coming along slowly. Basically once my mate has done all the welding its time to get it rolling for Lance walker to make up a sick roll cage for it, then onto paint.

Main parts now is coilovers, brakes and dog box, then possibly a cf tailshaft, billet driveshafts, then focus on interior.

Answer my PM on NS, f4g!

yeah, you never know mate, he could be scared or too embarrassed to make the 1st move......who knows?

Don't put it off for too long though cause I buried my Dad 4 days ago and you don't ever want to leave things unsaid or unresolved.

My eyes water and my nose burns so hard when that happens, piss funny!

    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
    • Yeah, I would have said the same. It makes me suggest that there are other things wrong, such that the ECU is totally unhappy with the broken sensor. The only other thought here is that maybe it is shorted, which might cause a different issue to the typical "disconnected" sensor.
