Goodmorning!

How tough is the scruteneering on tires at Mallala?

.. Also, do you have to wear gloves and do your shoes need to be leather?

I am awere you are to wear flame resistent clothing from ankle, wrist to neck... I dont want to rock up and not pass because shoes and gloves or whatnot.

Thanks!

Private track days are self-scrutineered, basically by signing the forms, you are saying your car is roadworthy. You dont need gloves, and your shoes dont need to be leather. Its pretty lax, but just make sure you dont roll your sleeves up as you are driving out, i got told when i was out there last time to roll them down, then i can go out!

Ahh ok. Thankyou!

I have signed the forms but they still said there will be scrutineering on the day before we can go out. My rear tyres arnt very good at all so I think ill have to get new ones.

Its not the SAUSA Track day as I couldnt afford that one. Its the MCSA Come and Try day (my friend from the Alpha club enrolled me), its got laps with a trainer and then laps on my own after.

Next Sunday (if my car does ok on the dyno this weekend)! Im so nervous. Haha

Definatly get new tyres, lack of traction for a track day will ruin the buzz and avoid you from pushing hard, you don't want to get everything organized and out there on the track to only experiance a f**k load of over steer to stop you taking corners as hard as you would like. It'll piss you off by the end of the day, trust me.

Normal track days, YOU are responsible for ensuring your car is track worthy.

Events like Time Attacks, they will check for leaks (fuel/oil), brake pedal feel, brake lights working, steering slackness, no loose items outside car, no loose items inside car (empty glove box etc) ... and of course, long sleeves, pants, good shoes, and of course a lid.

:(

BTW after last weekend, my Bridgestones got a hell of a workout ... might need new rubber soon myself :(

    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
