what you reckon he would want for a 3'' stainless pipe, from turbs to passenger door exit?

Call him and ask, he's doing the exact same for my mate Bengi on his turbo Starlet. Should look and sound sex

you where pushing alot more power than what matty will be thought chad...

but yeah, that did fail pretty bad haha

any clutch will do what chads did tho

it depends on how badly u punish it and how much power yr engine is putting out

on paper that clutch is supposed to easily handle chads power, so i have nfi whats going on there

im thinking of a nismo single plate clutch once i get my n1's installed, that with a nismo clutch cylinder too

-D

If you want spend the money and do it once Ben enquire about the Nismo copper mix multiplate clutches.

I know if I could fork out for one thats what I would buy. No rattle when disengaged, no heavy ass pedal etc, they're the way to go man. Pricey though

you reckon it would sound ok with a 20? might be a little too raspy... i dunno.

but would get mad rep points for teh flamage hehe

dont steal my idea craigy boy :D:down: btw u have pm on 31 club

I'd pay about $0

Did you see what happend to mine?

im not talkin bout buying one chad, im talkin bout the one i had in my 31. its still got half meat and all, would be good for someone with a streeter that wants a cheap clutch to start with. No good for me going to a 25 box and an aim of around 230-250rwkw

speaking of boxes, no conclusive searches have come up. ive been offered a GTR box minus the transfer case. Is this (beside the difference in ratios of course) essentially the same box as a 25 box?

Spot on, my mantra is always do it once, do it properly. Even if it takes longer to save up the cash, in the long run, it works out better IMO

I agree, which is why I was going to go with a Jim Berry.... and since its a daily, I'd be going with a single plate only if it was a nismo - nismo ones are apparently a lighter and stronger design than a JB so we'll just have to see... probably get luke to grab me one from japan when/if I need to replace the one I already got

When writeoff gets his gtr back, I'll see if I can drive it around the corner from his house - see what the clutching action is like, as I know he has a JB and is pretty happy with it - half the price too

Got a few months before it even becomes an issue (will do clutch when I change boxes)

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
