Anyone out there managed to find lock nuts for Volk GTC wheels? I'm having lots of trouble finding a set. I've checked with the usual sponsors and have scanned ebay etc for days with no luck. Surely people out there with GTC's have lock nuts!!??

I use McGard lock nut and would recommand them. I got the splinedrive nut + lock nut as they both require the special "key" to undo them. They are available on eBay.

Locknut

Not sure if they will fit the volk, but here is a thread that seems to confirm they will

The only down side is that its better you tighten those by hand since the lock nut will strip (the key part) if rattle gun is being used constantly.

Obtained a whole set of RAYS nuts in a set from Just Jap = 4 lock nuts (& socket) with 16 matching wheel nuts. 'Derrr

Because of its compound (& very light weight), you just need to not exceed 108Nm on torque wrench. Never use a ratchet gun on them either (no matter what setting). This is good to keep in mind should you lay your hands on a used set.

Thanks Terry - I'm trying to avoid the need to buy a set of 20 nuts just for the 4 lock nuts I require - but if I have no luck sourcing the lock nuts on their own, I might need to look at buying the complete set...

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
