Anyone read 2days newspaper??? http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...87-2682,00.html

They are on about cyclists and Bicycle SA want all 50km/h residential roads to be 40km/h and all 60m/h high-capacity roads to be 50km/h, Because of the cyclists and car incidents. They even have their own thing going about where the worst places to ride a bike is due to 'dangerious' vehicles.

How many cyclists u see on the road and they are weiving all around the joint/ turning with out indication or even worse when there is a group of them, and they ride side by side! Where is our Black spot poll about the worst places to drive due to arrogant/d!ckhead cyclists.

From the artical

Senior Sergeant Paul Warren, officer in charge of the Traffic Training and Promotion Section agreed slower speeds gave drivers more time to stop, but he stopped short of supporting the lowered limits.

Sen-Sgt Warren said slowing down could be the difference between a pedestrian or cyclist being "bumped instead of stonkered".

I just find it stupid they want to slow the speed down even more, Soon walking will be faster (watch out they might put a speed limit on walking) Why dont they rego bikes or at least if they are goin to be on a main road they should do a drivers course so they know the rules of the road. Because i came arross this bloke never had his car license and he wonders why he keeps getting tapped or knocked off his bike (why dont they give way) How can THOSE ppl be allowed on the road, iv come arross LOTS of cyclists and they all share the road. Slowing down the speed is goin to sh!t all!

What have u got to say about this ppls

yeah its ghey but its Adelaide soon slower and dumber than the rest

Haha... Just like ppl still CANT merge!

A lot more voting motorists than voting cyclists

Yeah thats true, which is a good thing coz if they ever did change the speed limits every motorist would kick up a stink!

i seen em street racing while working late 1 night, come out onto the main rd there was about 30 of them running 4 wide atleast. as i went to slowly pass them 1 pulls out infront of me to make his way to the lead of the pack. was lucky i was only going slow past them.

GOD DAMN STREET RACERS, take it to the veladrome race track

HAHAHA.... Road closed stuart o'grady find another way home!

as a regular road cyclist and a fellow SAU, i personally think you shouldnt whip the bull to make him plough harder! Get a new plough! Mike Rann should really spend less money on travelling all over the world and shaking hands with Arnie and spend some money on more bicycle lanes!

Then they will have meets at car parks and start hooting on the street and drifting

yeh let's make drivers go slower so when cyclist act like dicks and get themselves hit, they dont get hurt as much.

i can laugh cos i know it wont happen.

its pretty arrogant

the roads were made for cars

car owners and other vehicles pay registration and other fees to keep the roads maintained

and when there ARE speed limits for cars, you see these lycra clad dickheads exceeding said speed limits. I've been overtaken by wankers when doing 50kph in a 50 zone. f**k cyclists, they should stick to linear park or piss off.

-D

They wanted to turn the CBD roads in Adelaide down to 40 or something to copy Melbourne.

It's not bikes that should be banned. It should be scooters! These f**king scooters that do 60 in a 80 zone in the middle of the road are down-right dangerous! Ban those gay f**king scooters.

I tried to ride my bike on the roads here, its suicide!!!! too many tools who dont know how to drive , or the roads suck ..too many potholes and parked cars..lol

make the roads faster, and make it legal for bikes to ride on the sidewalks here ???? either that or create some paths like the one on the expressway , away from cars completey ???

Hell todays news

how you going to stop the trains from hitting bikes ???

http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...18-2682,00.html

but hey if the roads get any slower the cops could use these to catch you drifting grannies Handicap Mobility scooters around town..lol

Thats what Im talkin about, build dedicated trails so they have no cause to whinge. I still see cyclists without helmets riding on roads. Morons... Linear park's bike trail is quite a good example of what could be good, however the cyclists still menace pedestrians. their mentality is that 'if i go off the trail ill get a puncture so I'll make the pedestrians take 1 little step sideways'

Dicks.

Dennis Leary said "Ever had one of those bike guys crash into your car door? They come up 'Hey man, you're in my space!'.... NO! its the space for the door to open moron"

Exactly.... if your going to ride 10+ abreast like your in the tour down under on on anzaqs at rush hour. your going to get abused by drivers.. ride in a bike lane and pay attention , not a problem

how many of you see this every day in the city ?????and they wonder why they get hit ...Hello !!!

Yep 4 times yesterday driving around the place.... mostly in packs of 4, 2 abreast but still cmon guys, the bike lane is single file... you are NOT lance armstrong and u never will be so just stick to single file and take advantage of reduced wind resistance

the velodrome was built on the pretense of getting some of these hoon cyclists off the road, but it just hasnt worked ;P

speaking of, my f**king tea went cold waiting to get through Salisbury because of this nonce.

dude obvously watched fast and furious the night before and thought he was vin diesel

Yeah I saw this posted somewhere and actually took notice of the cyclists as I went home. Two of eight were riding legally the rest were running reds, wrong side of the road, not wearing helmets etc. The best was running a red without a helmet with 6 bags of shopping on one handle, pro.

    • Fark what are the changes of that snapping like that, clean. Nek minnit, custom radiator goes in, with built in oil cooler like those discontinued PWR ones from yesterdeacades ago
    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
