like said in previous posts. im knew to the whole skyline bit,

looking to get more power from the car.

its relatively stock.

with front and rear sway bars.

adjustable coilover all way round.

walbro fuel pump

eboost controller

turbo timer.

what do people suggest as a start.

oh and its running 10psi

how much you aiming for?

standard exhaust im guessing? if it is, call Andrew at AM Performance on 0401865373 and get him to hook you up with a turbo back system.

get yourself a front mount kit, id just buy a cheapo chinese core and again see Andrew to do the plumbing.

crank it up to 14psi, have everything checked out a dyno, and enjoy it for a bit.

then when you get bored (you will), start looking at turbos (steel wheel highflow will see you into the 200's), injectors, and ecu's.

then when youve got all that taken care of, start looking at keeping your engine reliable. oil cooler, maybe an ungraded radiator.

but before all that, basic brake upgrades. some rotors (rda slotted rotors are available cheap cheap like a budgie in the group buy section), uprated pads (i and many others will recommend qfm pads) and a set of braided lines.

forget about these waste of time/money mods dave has mentioned.

get yaself 1 of these puppys

you'll be ripping 10sec 1/4miles the second it go's on

Fark! I was going to get one of these instead.... good thing I read this one first hey ;)

sorry i forgot to mention it has a FMIC and as far as im aware it has a turbo back exhaust.

cheers for the ideas and suggestions. but in relation to cranking it up to 14psi. i was told to go no higher than ten because the stock turbo can not handle much more or something like that.

What he said ^ Just make sure you get the AFR's checked out on a dyno.

Edit: Hypergear say thier highflowed stocker can pull 225RWKW @ 16PSI on a RB20, so it would be higher for a RB25.

You will need to upgrade injectors, AFM, fuel pump plus look at your ECU to get those power levels safely, though.

a quick check inside the passenger left footwell will tell you what ecu you have. 14psi, hiflow turbo, 55cc injectors and fuel pump should see you safely into the 200's

cheers for ya help. already got the fuel pump, where would you reccomend for getting my turbo highflowed. and the 55cc injectors

Wow! I never knew RB25s could use such small injectors. No wonder they are such pussy engines. ;)

*Make sure your sarcasm alert is set to the 'on' position*

lol @ 55cc injectors. my lawn mower uses bigger squirters! ;)

send your turbo to hypergear for a highflow (theyre in the traders section here and on ns), itll run you about 800 samolians. 550cc injectors you can get basically anywhere, send a pm to dohmar on here, hes got a pretty decent thing going on with some americans (yeah, i know...) for cheap injectors.

You will need 550cc injectors, he left off a 0 lol

I have never used them, but Ive heard good things about Hypergear (www.digi-hardware.com)

What fuel pump do you have?

Also, you will probably need a Z32 air flow meter.

Then there is a couple of different options for ECU and tuning. You could go a Apexi PowerFC and have it tuned, the FC is ~$1500, then you need tuning. Or, call Jeff at The Speed Lab (0434637357) and have a talk to him. This will be cheaper.

    • When you crank your car, and hit it with a timing light, can you see a steady crank timing?
    • Oh, forgot to add, A few months ago I was getting mixture codes and the car was using crap loads of fuel. You could smell the unburned fuel in the exhaust, it was crazy strong. Economy was over 17.5 l/100 and usually around 19. I smoked the engine and found a leaky CCV hose which I replaced and then I replaced my two pre cat O2 sensors, I also replaced the MAF. This fixed my mixture codes and improved my exonomy but I'm still 14 - 15 l/100 when pottering about town so something is still amiss. Throttle response is much better and it has more pep but I'd like to know why it's still so thirsty (and I'm hoping that whatever it is gives me a bit more poke).
    • Car is on factory injectors/z32 maf/ q45 throttle body/ z32 ecu with nistune
    • Hello all, currently finishing up a rb25 swap into my s14. Having issues with starting, car has spark (confirmed by pulling a plug and watching it spark), has fuel(confirmed by checking pulse/voltage at injectors all spark plugs are soaked in fuel). Car cranks over and pops into the exhaust with a heavy fuel smell but no attempt to start or run, I have torn the timing cover off and triple confirmed timing, turned the CAS in multiple spots both directions, attempted to start with coolant temp and maf unplugged, checked my fuel lines and made sure they weren’t backwards, checked voltage at cas/injectors/coilpacks, made sure all the grounds in the harness are connected and added a few grounding straps (1 from chassis to block, 1 from chassis to head, and 1 from chassis to igniter chip) I am getting stumped here. As a last ditch effort I made a full grounding harness tonight that’s going to run from the battery and add an extra ground from the battery onto the coil pack harness/igniter chip/ intake manifold/ Wiring specialties harness ground/ and alternator. I’m hoping maybe the grounding harness will fix it here but posting here to see if anyone has any other ideas on what else I can check. My fuel pressure is unknown right gauge will be here tomorrow.  IMG_3206.mov
    • yeah I was shocked when I checked my spare OEM on and as below that's how they come from Nissan. (side interesting note new NEO gearbox and replacement park lack the brass bush on the tips and its just all alloy) unsure about damage to the box currently back at 1110 to be pulled down/inspected and selector fork replaced as he built it previously and given the never before seen failure on his billet forks he is replacing it under warranty. He said he has used always OEM the keyway tab without issue for years so it could be an unlucky coincidence. I did talk to him about the sharp corners and stress concentration too. Re: hard shifts i got 7+ years out of the OEM one and the fork itself failed not the keyway. so could be bad luck as I said or an age thing + heat cycles in box and during fabrication of billet?
