woah nasty

try Neways Wheel Repairs

9457 3141

Heidleberg West near la trobe uni in Bundoora

they just repired my ssr mk1s which had a fair bit of gutter rash, nowhere as bad as that

but yeh they are pretty good and reasonable price, dunno how you will go with that though

best to take it in to them and see what they can do

edit: website

2 or three peice? either way, new outters could be the way to go.

Wheel Solutions

9427 9265

560 Church St

Richmond Victoria

They deal with BBS 3 peice rims alot...

another option: http://www.advancedalloys.com.au/home/

well my 'advanced' repair peels off just after 3 months... what a rip off...

I'm going to re-repair mine, this time taking it to Neway which cost cheaper than the other place which I thought was more 'advanced'... won't name it here but you get a clue from my quotes....

Craig @ Color Ur Mags gets an awesome rap (he's a bit eccentric though):

What Jules said, i've seen some of the work he has done and its A1

although it might be worth seeing if you can locate a new rim

if it was a three piece wheel i'd say see my sig. it's where i work.

OT, but how much is it approx for a BBS RS style front lips approx 2-3" wide for a 17" rim

just something i was wanting to find out to see what is cheaper, to have some spun or purchase from overseas later on when i decide to rebuild the wheels

I got my SE37K rims repaired and powder coated by Craig about 6 months ago... Very well priced compared to the well known shitty job rip offs around the corner in Moorabbin (refer to rs73's post in this thread)...

If you search my topics you'll find the rims for sale (which are now sold :D) and you'll see the work Craig did.

Cheers,

Andy

How much does this guy normally charge for removing gutter rash and powdering coating rims? I sent him an email, but I honestly have no idea how much powder coating, or gutter rash removing costs in general. $500, $1000, more?

Cheers.

^ It cost me $125ea rim to strip back, repair gutter rashes, prep and power coat. $500 total for 4 of my rims :P

Read up on his website which tells you what he does... Very informative, although most things have been updated using latest processes/technology.

One thing I liked about his method in stripping the current paint work is not by sand blasting and instead dipping the rims into some form of solvent or some sh!t... Just read up about it!

Cheers,

Andy

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
