hey

trying to sell our daewoo nubira without luck

thinking of trading it in for a road/track GTR special.

how much would a dealer take for this on a trade in?

http://www.drive.com.au/used-cars/DAEWOO/N...983852&pt=1

thinking this would be ideal

thoughts on the GTR above? looking for one between 14-18k, less decent trade-in for the nubira

anyone know of car yards here in adelaide that have R32 GTR's currently?

cheers

tangley

Hey Brendan your better off trying to sell the nubria private

Iron Chef had a 500hp track only 32 gtr very cheap

Here it is

www.ironchefimports.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=303&Itemid=38

Just remember a cheap track GTR won't stay a cheap track GTR for long. Seeing as they are track thrashed engine parts won't be fresh. So that $14,000 R32 GTR could turn into a $30k GTR after 1 track day and a f**ked motor. I'd look for one with a 33R motor or even a 33R thats track only. Think there was a white one on carsales for about $18k

yep I agree with Jarrad - that Carsales ad reads: "This car has been flogged to within an inch of its life since it was born."

And Brendan, when making a new thread please give it an appropriate title - 'R32GTR' is not even close to acceptable (I have fixed it for you now) - I came on here ready to ban whoever made what I presumed was going to be yet another for sale thread.

not at all matey

cheers for the advice peeps

the ironchef one linked above is track only - needs rego for hills runs.

tbh Id prefer to trade-in the daewoo and some cash for a GTR around the 15k mark

fact is it'd need work over time, thats for certain.

tbh interested in that vspec. . . . .

or go one of these:

http://www.ironchefimports.com/site/index....2&Itemid=30

sure you might be a bit tall for the seat, nothing an angle grinder and a welder cant fix :D and youll have enough of a budget to mess around with parts.

to be honest, thats not enough of a budget for a reliable example of a registerable 32r

Agreed. Mines in pretty good nick (and was in OK condition when I bought it) but thats after dropping $20k on it over the last 2.5 years.

A vspec that cheap is gonna cost u 30k, without blinking

-D

for sure

makes it a great project seeing the Stagea is pretty much completed

a nice long termer... buy for 15 and sink another 20k over the yrs into it.

h,mmmmm.

but yeh - best for me to do the trade-in ... so Id be looking for an interested dealer in sa,vic or nsw.

That ebay GTR has done way more K's than 82,000. Look at the steering wheel wear and tear for a start. The body looks a bit rough, too.

And that is stupidly cheap for a V-Spec 2!! Even a normal 32 GTR doesn't even go for that cheap unless it's a grenade.

I'd steer clear of it.

And lol'd at the comment on the ad:

This car would suit a keen buyer who wants a V SPEC 2 but cant really afford one.

Black car looks like a nightmare. However, I picked up a really good R32 GTR for $17k, RWC, 1 year's rego from a dealer and it's not perfect but I reckon it's a peach. Nismo rear arms, near new Tein SS, no gutter rash, no rips tears, engine really quiet, overall very clean straight forward original example. Had 177klms on it but I dare say they all do in reality. Was well looked after. So you can buy sub $20k, but taking it to the track.......ooooh, dunno about that. Fingers crossed.

    • Hey everyone. Is there a way I can get the original window sticker (maroney label) for my 1995 R33 GTST? I doubt I’ll be able to ever get it but it’s worth a shot to ask
    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
