i run Tein super street, jap spec rates not aussie. they are firm as hell but..i love it. handling is fantastic imo. While we're here can anyone tell me the springs rates front and rear of the Jap spec super streets i have? cant find it in the paperwork, and i dotn read japanese...

ask yourself if you care about how stiff the ride is too, if you're so soft cock that you'll be enbarrassed to take passengers in your car then coilovers might not be for you. That said not all coilovers are ridiculous.

I personally have greddy type s in my 32 and it handles great and is a bit stiff but i wouldn't change it for the world. Just need sway bars next.

I know the TEIN springs i bought are about 4/4. They are good for me, slightly stiffer than standard but still very driveable. I would think the coilover springs would be slightly stiffer.......

super streets are 6/4 or something around there 5/4 maybe

My greddy type s are 8/6.

It really is all about the quality of valving that will decide how they go on the road, cheap shit chinese copies (g4, d2 etc) are bad and even with lower spring rates will be bad.

My greddy's on the softest setting are quite nice on the road but obviously you lose some handling. But you can wind it up when you need it.

didn't want to make another thread so thought i'd just add to this one:

i'm considering some BC coilovers for my 33, however i am wanting to order some soft spring rates (5 and 3 or thereabouts) for the odd time i go to the drags, and because it's my daily driver. i don't drift or do any circuit work that would require stiff suspension.

any suggestions? from guys who have got the standard 8/6 combo, and others with similarly soft rates.

cheers

Ive got some Cusco Zero 2E for sale :D

roughly 5-7000k's

Top of the range Cuscos, Base height adjustable, damper adjustable, helper springs, spring rate is 8/10. Very comfy ride on the softest setting or wind them right up for track duites. Can basically lower them so the rear touches the ground, huge amounts of adjustment.

$1600ono

i'm running greddy 8/6's on the hardest setting with a few other sussy mods... come for a ride when you see my car next.. its quite livable even as a daily

thanks for that mang, will take you up on it

saw you at the dyno/renewal day, far out you are pushing 7 foot! lol

got bc's in mine and they are so f*king hard, great handling but if you travel on bad roads i wouldnt bother with them.

I just got BC's fitted a couple of weeks ago and the ride is firm but not too firm for daily driving IMO... (with shocks on softest setting)

One thing that you must do is take them to a performance suspension specialist to get them set up properly!

I made the mistake of taking my car to a suspension franchise (the one with the bull) workshop who did not do the job properly at all...

I wasn't happy with the result (ride too firm and bumpy + wife complaining loudly from passenger seat) so took it to someone that knows what they are doing and it now drives and rides like a dream

They properly adjusted the ride height, tension and droop etc - the difference was like night and day!

Oh and the "Wife-o-meter" has stopped complaining loudly and is now indicating acceptable ride characteristics ;)

I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
