industrial strength vac maybe? thats all i can think of....hopefully the damage hasnt already been done

lol i know a moron very good friend of mine who did a very similar thing... uncanny!

Needless to say, he doesn't do mechanical anymore :D

Im surprised you started it though without getting it checked. Short of taking the head off im not sure of many options as its not metallic.

Really if you have started it its a little to late

other than pulling the head

Damn I am sorry

Snap on make a kinda camera that may fit in there to give ya a better idea

Called a borescope you might luck out an find someone who has one you could stick that in there an get a better look

They are exy an not a lot of mechanics have em

other than that ummmmmmmmmm

you may find someone like techrentals (here in darwin ) who you can hire one from

A GTR turbo fails in one second, same thing happens, it wouldn't surprise me.

Depends where the bits/pieces have ended up etc during those 500 revolutions... cause think about it, 30 sec, 1000rpm... whatever is in there has certainly done the rounds.

i turned it on for 30 seconds man i doubt it will neeed a rebuild

As nismoid said, 1000RPM for 30 seconds... It's gone around and been ground to pieces 500 times... PLUS you heard all that nice clunking...

You've 99% likely farked your motor. Start stripping it out.

i'd be more worried about the turbo than the engine.

i accidentally did the same thing servicing my mum's camry, it made nasty noises, crushed up the porcelain and spat it out the exhaust.

put a new plug in, started and ran fine after that.

your main concern are bits of porcelain getting stuck in your turbine, but u never know your luck, if you can still boost it then chances are it was crushed up so fine that is passed straight through the turbine and out your exhaust.

put a new plug in and try your luck I say :D

harden up bitches

ive done this when pissed once

just idle the motor for a few miniutes

in my case i lost compression for about 2 minutes ( i think it jammed in the valve)then after a while it cleared up no dramas( eg crushed it out)

compression came back and i flogged the flamin mongrel out the engine for another 10k.. then re- built it

now i dont know if the rebuild was a result of my drunkan spark plug change????

    • First time visitor and currently getting ready to start work on my HK Premier.  Its all stock, 186 with 3 on the tree.  The only mod i have right now is extractors.  I am hoping to get some guidance on slightly modifying the engine to bring a little more power. Just going for a nice, comfortable cruiser.  The car is very straight, however i have been out of the country for 20 years and its been gathering dust at a family farm.  Will be doing quite a bit of body work to cut out some small rust areas (frnt quarter panels and a few other small bits) and fix up the paint.  Will be redoing the interior (its currently black and the seats are in real need of recovering and respringing the driver side (its front bench seat).  The dash needs a little TLC, but no real damage.  As my heater has degraded I am considering fitting something after-market that will be both heater/AC (recommendations here are always welcome). Wanting something discrete that will allow me to use the same controls and not be obvious once inside the car.   For the engine, i have been told i could consider upgrading my cam (imagine i would need a new head as well) and putting a new carby (currently the original stromberg).  However not sure what is going to be the best route.  Would certainly welcome any comments/suggestions.  As  a final step I am looking at changing the wheels. Current hubcaps are in dire need of refurbishment or replacement (imagine its a bit like hens teeth).  Thinking of some clean/classic looking mags (7-inch should be more than enough - not going for a large change in look).  Welcome any comments/advice and of course any questions.
    • I got the ARC M079 due to the space constraint.  Been running mint for the last 3 years.  Plazmaman also seems like a really solid choice but not used myself.    Hunt around for a better price but this is what I have - https://www.rhdjapan.com/arc-brazing-intercooler-smic-m079-bnr32.html
    • Wanted to follow up on this. Did you end up getting the M073? Still deciding on what to get between nismo m073-79 and plazaman.
    • I was just watching these boys up in QLD AWD'ing their S13 too.
