Has anybody tried fitting an A32/A33 Maxima throttle body (72mm) to a Plazmaman RB25 plenum?

I'm interested to know if this works as $500 for a billet 72mm TB is a joke. I know there's other's available from CPC, OBX etc via the net just want to know if this works first as it could be one of those handy money savers.

whats the bolt hole spacing on them? could be another option for the greddy plenum aswell

But the Plazmaman throttle bodies look sexy as!

They'd damn well want to as well for the money. Whilst I agree they look good, they're not worth paying for fashion over function. My car is a basic drifter that doesn't need to look good, just needs to work well.

How big is the std? In the new year with my plenum on i was going to look to mill out a stocker 4-5mm, i think std they may be about 65mm. Was also thinking about trying one of the twin type throttles of the L98/LT1 350 Chev as they are meant to give sharper throttle response, but will have to measure up the flanges.

Stock is 60mm. Plazmaman recommended a 72mm TB, saying that an 80mm or 90mm (50%) increase in size would lose some of the responsiveness.

This may all be a sales pitch from them to sell a part, but if there's merit in what they say then I don't see the harm in trying to find a cheaper alternative that might cost $200 (incl machining an adapter plate) instead of $500.

Hmm interesting, they recommended me the 80mm one for my setup.

Roy, how on earth are you going to make something like that fit?

HAHAHA Just put your cooler piping in the vice and sqaush it to size :) Simple :)

    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
