Hello Everyone,

I used to visit this forum a lot back when I had an R33 in 2005/6. I sold the R33 in 2007 and brought an XR6 Turbo ute which is my luxury work ute.

I will now be a regular visitor to this forum again as I have recently purchased an R32 with an Rb25 engine. It is good to get behind the wheel of a Skyline again. My honest opinion is that the R32 I just purchased is better than sex.

Cheers and see you ppls around town

About a month and a half between posts, essentially this thread a microcosm of the NT.

There would be a lot more than 20 skylines in the territory wouldn't there?

I mean even I have a black r32 gtst, that everyone seems to hate? (probably because it is stock apart from rims)

You live aroudn the corner from me. I have the white Autech Stagea (you would have heard it), the black 08 Liberty GTB wagon (wouldve heard that too) and my wife owns the red Stagea. Your 32 is schmick, very neat.

Cheers,

Ken

Yeah, I was looking at getting a Aluminium radiator.

But the sad story is my car is auto *heavy heavy shame*

So I would have to run a transmission cooler separately and have to find some place to mount it,

That and I could only find Davies Craig coolers.

Unless there is a better way?

Any ideas except the obvious manual conversion :) ?

Anybody up there interested in a few R32 GTR parts I have lying around

Factory camshafts

ABS unit

HICAS computer and various HICAS bits

Factory ECU

DBA4000 series slotted rotors - nearly new

Factory coils

Bilstein shocks with King low springs

Let me know soon as the car goes in the container on the 16th of this month and I will chuck it in the boot otherwise I will bin it.

Anything else you may need for a Skyline let me know as I can get most bits easily and will chuck it in the boot B4 the car goes in the container.

Yeah the gtt has a semi auto with toggle buttons on the wheel to change gears. there is a bit of a lag when changing gears and automatically changes down if you forget to so it doesn't stall, that said i don't use the semi-manual too often. I think the one in the city is a rb25de Neo without a turbo and thats probably the only reason it hasn't sold

Ohh and BTW where can u get HKS products in Darwin, am getting one installed.

(Posted earlier but skylines australia crashed)

That's a pretty good price for an 80mm radiator, but I don't think there is enough room between the front of the engine fan and radiator, not to mention the auto predicament. Thanks for the link :3some:

    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
    • Neg, the top one is actually for the front. The sizes are 18x10.5 +18 and 18x11 +32.   I measured many times but I'm sure I'll have problems as this is the thread for problems.
    • Just one thing; tapping tapered threads is tricky. Taps are always tapered and you would generally run it as far as you can, but with a tapered thread you have to stop much sooner otherwise the wide part of the taper will run in too far and you will have to thread the sensor in too far too as well (possible that it will never make a good seal) BTW nice wide wheels, I guess the top one is for the back!
    • Welp, good to know. Will have to wait awhile until steady hands with drills and taps are available. In other news, these just arrived! I will weigh them for posterity. Edit: 11kg each (or 10.9/11.1 depending on what my scale decides over multiple tests, the 18x11 don't seem to weigh noticeably any more than 10.5)
