For sale is my PowerFC Datalogit kit that I have owned for a number of years.

FC Datalogit

- Beige box

- Multiversion, does any PowerFC except Toyota Supra ( there is a specific box for this one )

- Has the normal inputs/outputs on the box for wideband etc

- www.fc-datalogit.co.nz for product info

- This is the true serial port person (NOT USB)

- also included seperately (didnt come with datalogit) is an additional USB to serial dongle

Laptop

- Dell Lattitude CPx 650GT 650mhz

- 256mb of ram

- 18GB HDD

- CDROM and floppy (they share the same bay)

- 1 batteries installed and working and tested (typical run time on battery is 50 minutes)

- Windows 98 and fc datalogit installed (can re-image if you want to std win98 blank)

- Video out, touchpad, screen, powerpack, USB Port, PCMCIA ports all in working order

- True serial port that works with datalogit

- Has AC adapter

- Has customized 12v ciggy lighter adapter

USB Dongle

- Belkin USB dongle

- Can supply driver CD

- Converts USB to serial

- It's recommended you use serial with datalogit, but if you insist on using a new laptop, you can use this included USB dongle

So you get a working Win98 laptop, Datalogit kit (box and cable, software) to suit any PowerFC version, a customized 12v ciggy or AC power input into the laptop (i made it) and an optional USB dongle kit as well. This has been used for numerous logging sessions and on-road tuning sessions, fix tunes, unlocking powerfcs and general tune updates and fixes. I have personally used this on many R33's and a workshop has borrowed this to use it on an SR20 Powerfc as well (to verify the multiversion).

Price $550

You can see from the pics ive cut and shut (front plenum style) the dell laptop power cord and fitted a hacked molex power cord (from pc bits).

I've then fitted the same plug to the AC adapter and the 12v ciggy adapter so if your near power or ciggy you can get constant power.

I'll do a full charge test of the batteries in the laptop tonight and then once fully charged, test their capacity to hold charge.

forget to mention comes with a CDROM of all the fc datalogit versions (ie for WRX, SR20, BNR32 and so on..), updates and the manuals

the 2nd battery is dead (non-OEM) so ive chucked that in the bin, so it comes with 1 working battery.

total run time on battery was just over 50 minutes so it is reasonable given its age

still am the guru (maybe) just don't use it much anymore

sms replied - so waiting for you

noone - ill give ff dritz a chance to respond so if you can wait a few days

also comes with PCMCIA ethernet adapter as either on board ethernet doesnt work (or it doesnt have one) cant remember which one sorry

Tempting...always wanted one but probably for satisfy more my electronics part of me rather than my car enthusiast side as I probably wont have a clue what to do, just to everyone who's looking at this and think that the Logit kit is locked to this computer and want something newer, I've read that you can get issued a new key from Apexi, but otherwise you can just use an image extracting program to basically copy this computer and run it through VMWare on any/as many computer as you want. Good luck with the sale Paul!

you can get the datalogit software or apexi software, but both are useless without a working cable

for sale is as stated above, the software, cable and laptop

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
