Japanese internet access

When I am in japan I want to get a pre-paid internet account or similar so I can be connected to the real world.

What are some japanese ISP's that I can sus out that would have this?

when I was in japan i just went to a cafe... some are free if you buy a drink or something that they sell in the refreshment area.. drop in 100 yen and that will buy you 15 minutes or so in public places hotels etc etc.

but with ISPS i dont know

I'm not sure about the ISP's. You could try Yahoo. But I agree with akeenan - there are plenty of internet cafe's about where you can get online. Failing that, most electrical/computer stores will have machines you can "try" with various levels of broadband access. It'll also save you the hassle of carrying around a laptop...

(Some of the bigger ISP's are Big globe and OCN)
