R33 Service Manual - Who wants to pitch in to buy one?

Recommended Posts

Guys, I know everyone would love to own a copy of this publication, and while its a bit too much to be bought by oneself, if we all pitched in and bought a copy there's no law against us all buying one copy and passing the one copy around. Basically the you can grab it off the last person who had it when you need it n keep it till sum1 else wants it.

The manual is about $200 or less, so basically if 10 people pitched in 20 bucks we could buy it. It apparently covers all models of R33s.

Since the manual has to be passed around, it requires that all people in the group buy are in the same city, so this is only open to residents of melbourne.

I will make sure that all people who put their hands up for this are people who are known and credible, so that no one is tempted to "lose" the manual and stuff it up for every1 else.

I would definately be interested and would be willing to chuck in $20 bucks.

Tell me though, are we allowed to make a "back-up copy" just in case the original gets lost?

what you do with it is up to you, the rest of us won't be liable for the repercussions. The way I see it, its like me buying the book n lending it to you, I can't stop you from photocopying it, but you will have breached copyright.

Im not someone to break the law. But im still interested.

Surely there are more people in Melbourne who are interested in the R32 manual?

And no freeloaders, funky, i take it it will not be lent to people who havent put in?

yeah got the GTR one, I'm assuming the R32 Service manual would have everything though, coz that's what it says on the blurb.

i guess a similar group buy could be done for the R33 manual... actually seeing as I'm gettin an RB25DET swap I'll need it, yeah I'll put $20 in for one... I'll create a thread for it...

Greetinz Funkymonkey,, where have you seen this manual for $200 or less,,i just ask because everywhere i have seen it ,,it is around the $240 to $250 mark before shipping ...........

more plebs want the r33 manual i suspect hehe... nah I need a copy too coz I'm puttin an RB25DET into my car n need to know all the fiddly bits n circuit diagrams

some rules will have to be established I guess.

minimum keep time is 3 days

whoever loses it has to pay out the contributions in full to the contributors

it cannot be loaned to anyone outside the group of contributors

whoever had it last keeps it till it is wanted by someone else

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
