Many people have done it, here's how I did it,

the exhaust you have is fine but include a dump pipe and a hiflow cat ,or if the one you have is 3" then that's fine. Hybrid intercooler 600x300, Profec B EBC @12psi, or a manual bleed if you can't afford the EBC, SAFC to correct the A/F ratio and that should see you there. My tune was done in 4th gear and made 195rwkw and 208rwkw in shootout mode, in 3rd it would easily make 200rwkw in normal mode as it reads higher in 3rd, just depends which gear your tuner prefers.

Oh incidently I also replaced the fuel pump with something better(Bosch) as I read somewhere the stockie isn't too flash but not too sure, maybe do a search.

* Replace Pod filter with a standard airbox with K&N panel filter.

* Ex Cam Gear

* FMIC

* PowerFC

* Up the boost to 12psi

* Upgrade the fuel pump

That will get you close :D

The other easy way to do it is visit afew differeny dyno places. I got 203rwkw (30c weather) from 1 dyno place but then only 180rwkw on a different dyno (after the 203rwkw run) with the only difference being a fuel pump.

don't need a fmic to get 200rwkw btw. I know of 211rwkw (284rwhp) without one using the stock cooler and turbo.

My car was actually quicker than that particular car just that I never took mine back to the dyno after fixing the injector issues.

would the turbo beable to handle this much power for a long period of time? This is my goal to reach 200kw at the moment, and im hoping i wont be too far off it once my fmic goes on.

I wont have much money for a turbo upgrade for the next few months and i dont wanna kill my stock turbo just yet :D

and whos car was that?? the stock cooler is useless at more that 8psi of boost!

u can get 215rwkw if u want with stock shit u just need to find a dyno that reads high :D

I dont know about that, i got 187rwkw peak in shootout mode, and the more i was boosting it and tuning it with the SAFC, it was actually dropping rwkw, and then i felt the intercooler, OUCH. I was spraying it heaverly between runs, but decided to call it a day. I didnt want to wait that long to let it cool down. I suppose first run when its cold, it may go close, but still doesnt help me down the 1/4.

Hi guys, on the dyno, unless you run a separate fan for the standard intercooler (most dyno shops only have one fan in front of the radiator) you will always have this problem. This is not the case when you are driving the car on the road or the track, it is moving so the ambient air is flowing through both the radiator and the intercooler.

I have seen plenty of R33 GTST's make 200 rwkw at 12 psi on the standard turbo and intercooler. You just have to be carefull with the usual ceramic turbine problems. Of course, on a hot day, it is less likely to have its 200 rwkw than a car with a larger FMIC.

Hope that helps

That is always a factor... I've never felt my intercooler hot on the street after heavy use, but on a dyno its always gone warm - despite the use of dyno fans and the like.

If you run 10-12psi you should be able to get good power all-day, every-day without risk to the turbo or detonation, no matter what the outside temp, or conditions. Anything above (in mine at least), even with a FMIC is a bit iffy.

Don't aim for 200rwkw just because it sounds good!

Don't aim for 200rwkw just because it sounds good!

I think aiming for 200rwkw with the stock turbo is a great idea. By aiming for 200rwkw you really have to get everything running right and have -all- the bolt-on bits done. I think too many people go and buy $5k worth of bits and just throw them on without getting the full potential out of each individual part.

I've seen and read about too many cars that have done -some- of the bolt-on bits and then done the easy thing of just bolting on a bigger turbo whilst still only getting 200-215rwkw. I'd be quite angry if that was my car, knowing that even after a $1500-2000 aftermarket turbo im not getting the full potential from just the simple cheaper bolt-on bits n pieces.

Now the real challenge is getting 200rwkw from a stock ECU which im still pursuing (well I got it on 1 dyno but I want it on 3 different dyno's). An Exhaust Cam Gear and a S-AFC should get me there, then I know im deffinetly on the right track to getting a GCG Hiflow or HKS equivalent :(

The car in question is owned by Nexus Six, I believe it was in shootout mode on a well respected Dyno Dynamics. Boostd and others have had the factory turbo over 200rwkw as well.

INASNT, you should know by now that the stock cooler works fine at 8psi even 10 or 12 psi. I have times to prove it.

My last dyno with an injector issue was over 175rwkw (shootout DD) at only 4300rpm with afr's in the low 10's to attempt to compensate. The 13.3 1/4 was done with the same power and issues. After I fixed the problem and rectified my fuel mixture I am fairly sure my power was a fair whack higher at the same revs.

I have set out to build a torque monster this time round. So the stock turbo and intercooler (crappy designed as it is) are going to get a real workout.

lukits01- the balance knob is nearly all the way over to the SHARP side on my car, start in the middle and if boost rises with RPM then turn towards the SHARP side and if boost falls as RPM increase then go towards the MILD side. SAFC settings are dyno tuned for each individual car so should never be copied, mine vary between -6% to -13%.

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way.
