Hi All

im planning on buying a set of the gtc's and just wondering what you guys think about the wheel size and if it will fit on my r33 perfectly.

18x9+24 Front

18x10+24 Rear

Im not sure what tyre size should i get. Will a wide tyre fit in the rears without adjusting the camber or rolling the fenders? What set up will be perfect for to fit for my r33?

If any has the same wheel size or similar set up can you please post a pic?

Thanks heaps.

will fit nicely, the 10's will be a tight fit with a big tyre you'll get a 265 with a roll of guards you will need to run some camber as it will be a bit mexican but depending how low wll depend how much camber. front should fit up without any dramas, depends how low you want to sit.

Hi

Yeah thanks for the reply. Say if i have a smaller tyre size in the rear you reckon it'll fit nicely? Well my car isnt that low only 2 finger space front the guard with my current rims. I can always adjust the height cos i can adjust my suspension.

I also have another question, what is the lowest tyre size for the 10's?

Thanks for the help

Hey there

Looks nice man.. Yeah can you take a closer picture of the wheels on the side. cos i want to see how much it comes out from the guard or how close it is to the guard.

Cheers.

They should fit alright with the tyres I suggested, in fact the 225's and 255's should be a big help with all your clearence issues you are worried about. But with wheels of those specs, definitely get your guards rolled. You will need it, especially after lowering. Lowering will also induce natural negative camber.

The tyres I suggested though will give you the most amount of tyre stretch you can legally have with those wheels as well as keep your overall rolling diameter as close as possible to factory.

So lower your car, roll the guards, fir the wheels, pick up chicks.

Hey guys

Thanks all for your replies. Yeah mine is a gtst. Im just worried about getting a defect for my wheels. The mods i've done to my car i try to minimize any defects as much as possible. All my piping in my engine bay is all original parts so when a cop do pull me over it looks stock as a rock so there is no issues =]

Yeah pls advise for my gtst what tyre size will be nice without any dramas? The wheel size might be too big for my car you guys reckon?

I run 18x8.5 with 235's on the front and 18x9 with 255's on the back of mine with GTC's. Not sure on the offset since i bought them off a mate, but at a guess they would be + high 20's.

with those sizes if you run your car low you will need to either roll, flare or camber (or a combination of these)

if you keep it 4wd spec then you'll be fine... (but who wants to do that?)

I'm running 18x10 + 18 front and rear, rears are 275/35 and front 265/35, this is on a GTS-4 but has had GTR guards put on the back though

Yeah thats wheels are heaps too big for my car. I'll probably gonna go with a smaller size maybe 18x8 front and 18x9 rears.

hey mate you can run a 235 on a 10" just a fair bit of stretch which you wont need with your current hieght id go either 245 or 255..

levinboy has a gtr so 265's all roundis no problem becuase his guards are heaps wider from the factory.

front i'd go with above suggestions

the wheel size you wont have any police dramas unless they are hanging outside the guards and your tyres are fairly stretched so i wouldnt worry to much but its always a good idea to have back RWC rims.. stockies ftw

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
