So i got a puncture on the rear left tyre, and went to get it fixed.....

Walked out with new wheels and tyres. The car rides much nicer on 19's and finally looks better. some G-Max Defiant's in Hyper Black sitting on 245/35/19's

Did some spirited driving today down on the Peninsula and can highly recommend the Pirelli Zero Nero tyres too.... :nyaanyaa:

Need to get some coilovers now to drop it a bit....

So what has anyone else bought on impulse??????

^ yes you have. You bought those gtr seats that I was going to buy but they didn't match my interior and you said "I might buy them cos my interior is blue"

If we were talking non car related stuff I could fill pages on all the impulse buying I've done :nyaanyaa: . But in terms of cars, I can't think of anything big I've bought on impulse except maybe my new wheels. I was going to the shop just to "check them out" but ended up buying them. I don't think that counts as an impulse buy though because deep down I expected myself to buy them, I just kept that thought to myself lol.

Other than that there's been stuff I've wanted and then happened to come across somewhere and bought it on the spot without really giving much thought to whether or not I really needed it or could afford it.

4 pot conversion that didnt fit my car . sold for 150% profit

trust same side front mount ic core . no use to me .

autech wheels for car . were only $400 with new tires tho

4 random boost gauges and 3 random bov's for about $20each even tho my car has a defi gauge and a gfb 4in1 bolt on bov

Bought a second hand DLS D1000 monoblock amp on impulse whilst out with Kidafa because it was great value. That lead to me buying a 13w7, not quite on impulse, but I certainly didn't think I was going to buy it the week before :nyaanyaa:

back when i was 16, i got a vn ss manual sedan ..... walking through a car yard as it looked cool from the road and i got it then and there ...... some bugger stole it that night from my driveway

yeah that was a shit buy ..... could have saved myself alot of money

Didn't really buy much on impulse for car related stuff as most of the parts are pretty expensive.

But I bought a bunch of smaller crap (most of them I found out I didn't have much/any use for...) on impulse.

Also I almost placed an order for the new Asus G73 gaming laptop (~$2.5k) on impulse but managed to convince myself to hold it for another month or so as otherwise I won't have $ for my car's service thats due soon.

i bought a $400 pair of kicks while i was off my face on coke if that counts :(

That night sounds like it cost you alot more then $400. haha Probs not something id be telling everyone personally haha.

Got pissed on friday night and bought a U13 Bluebird. At least I bargined a good deal lol.

lol.

did you get that black sss with the cracked bonnet on carsales and here?

I have bought many a thing on impulse.......my worst buy was a BA XR6 Turbo.....was the biggest piece of crap I have ever own......never buy a car in yellow...they are a lemon from day one......hence I am now in a NISSAN and will never f#$King buy an Australian car again.

Here is another example of an impulse buy below.....powerduct for an M35....I got raped!!!!

Bought a series 1 dayz pearl white stagea at auction in Japan and was going to build that

Within a week bought another series 2 which was a better buy and that is the car I have today. That was a impulse buy

Managed to keep the second stagea a secret for 2-3 months from the missus :(

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
