I can understand why people would want an n-a skyline. theyre nice cars to drive - even without the boost.. but in all honestly if you're trying to keep your insurance down and you want an n-a I 'd look at a bling bling euro. driving experience and pimp factor.

there are a surprising number of s/hand beemers and peugots around at hurter cheap prices.

if you want a jap import with an n-a engine there are some cool cars around - like the infinitys, cedrics, glorias and celsiors.

i managed to get insurance for my GTS.

and im 18.

(drivin almost 2 years or there abouts...)

if u cant find anywhere else, famous classic car will insure anyone as long as u can come up with the cash. (they quoted me $2500 ish for a non turbo)... but i went with western QBE (usually dont insure imports but i had used them as insurance before so they allowed it) and now im paying $1900 a year for a non turbo :D

and thats with a 20 % NCB. cant wait till i get my 30% next year an then more an more!!!

mmm yeh i have an n/a and was paying 2.5k for my first years insurance :D

i doesnt really make much difference turbo or not, as soon as insurance companies hear the word imported they add another grand 2 your insurance :D

it woulda cost me around another grand if i got a turbo

and yer as Pva said being under 25 is seen as a major risk

nah, that's not what I'm saying. everyone gets their cars for different reasons.

I wanted mine for maybe 10-15% pimp factor and 85-90% because theyre great cars with good handling and great bang for buck.

if you take away the turbo, you do take away the bang for buck to an extent. hence if I wanted a car for pure sex appeal i'd probably have a look at some other things. then maybe still go with the line, but who knows.....

    • Hey all, It's been a bit since I have been able to update.  I pulled the fuel pump, first off it was a "universal" pump and the strainer was very clogged, and it was folded over on itself.  I replaced the fuel pump and all is well....  No more stalling.

    • Hey guys so turns out this project is going to be much bigger than I thought haha but I've done some my homework and have done a few panels on my car, but one part I can just not visualise is this. If I do a spot repair and I put filler in a dent for example and sand outside of the repair with 320 grit lets say so the primer can stick as I will only put primer on that repair and the surrounding area and then repaint the whole panel. Don't I need to make sure that I don't put primer on the old clear coat? I keep seeing YouTube videos where people have new paint and primer land on the old clearcoat that isn't even dulled down, it's still shiny. I thought putting paint on clearcoat or primer on clearcoat is a bad idea because it won't stick. So in this scenario it's a bit different to mine but imagine someone doing a spot repair and only painting that small section of repair but the new paint is landing on the old clearcoat. What am I missing?
