sorry guys dont know what happend there with it coming up 3 times, also does any1 have a pic of the back of an R34 clutch pedal?? mine fits in fine i just dont like the way it attaches to the firewall, looks loke its ment to have another piece in it to sit against the firewall better, ill take some pics of mine and post them when i get a chance

The manual conversion thread is HERE, and I myself have posted quite a few photos of the handbrake location in there somewhere...

Sorry, can't help with the question on the pedals, though.

Do you know what hand brake you have got

The skyline ones are very similar to the stagea one, but the mounting feet are different angles

I used a brand new stagea one for ease, was aprrox $170 and was not worn out.

To make things easy you need to use the mounting bracket that is normally welded in on the tunnel.

The bracket is made of 2 peices spot welded together. Series 2 auto's have one part of this bracket already so you only use one half of the new bracket. Series 1's I believe need to use the whole bracket. Either weld or bolt to the floor. Then the hand bracket will sit at the correct angle and line up with the centre console.

Same with the clutch pedal, the stagea and r34 are the same, but the mounting bracket to the fire wall is different. Grab a stagea one and you will be right

Have you got a centre console yet? I might be getting a spare one and possibly the pedal brackets etc.

Attached is a couple pic's of a full stagea manual conversion. Might help

My conversion is from an RB33 GTR so maybe that makes the pedals easier to fit. If you look at the handbrake you will see that it is bolted on to a black plate. The plate looks as though it is rivetted on but is in fact welded to the tunnel.post-49463-1269220784_thumb.jpgpost-49463-1269220856_thumb.jpg

i dont know what handbrake they gave me but it was the wrong one, it had R33 in texta on it by mistake, all good now and have the right one, where do i get that bracket from?? do i realy need it?? has any1 else made there own brackets??? or is it a cheap part to get??? all the frontcuts i looked at today had been cut just after the gearstick hole

You can buy all the brackets from nissan. approx $70 for the handbrake one

Much easier to use the factory bracket so that you do not rip out of the car over time when pulling the brake on

ill go into nissan tommorow and see what they can do for me.. that part number on the bracket is that a stagea one or an R34 one??

also is this diagram right?? it just seems strange that there isnt anything siting flat on the fire wall instead of the circular points around the bolts being the only thing in contact with the fire wall,

The bracket is out of a series 2 manual stagea, not r34

That is right for the bracket onto the fire wall, that it fits thru the sound proofing.. There is also some other mounting points which fix to the dash cross brace

and u got that bracket localy???

mmm, i cant wait 3 weeks for that.... i might have to make up a temp one, did you weld yours to the tunnel or are they riveted on like in that other guys pic??

Used 4-off 6mm bolts with lock nuts in the tunnel

I drilled the spotwelds out of an R33 to remove the handbrake bracket. Worked great along with the handbrake itself and the clutch pedal/master cylinder.

i might see if ican find a 33 at the local pick apart then cause the import ones didnt have what i wanted.. also what clutch is every1 using?? my mates gunna order me an exedy clutch, do i just get one to suit an R34 or does the r34 use a pull type clutch?? im using a 32 gearbox so its a push type...

R34 GTT uses a pull type, unsure of R34 GTR. Most R32 GTR's are the push type but as darrinspencer will confirm, the later model ones are a pull type.

Josh is right

All Rb flywheels are the same

I use a late model R32 gtr box which is pull type rebuilt by Jim Berry for approx 300rwkw cost around $900.

Looking at upgrading when the new engine goes in as it slips already esp being AWD

Push type clutches are cheaper

    • Not really, but the heater box is pretty simple mechanically....if the door is one way the air bypasses the heater core and if it is the other way it goes through it for warm air.  If you are sure the actuator you moved manually is for the heater mix (there would also be one for output air direction) then I'd take the heater box out and see what is happening (you'll have to regass and re-coolant the systems afterwards) BTW pp724 onwards from the GTR workshop manual cover the system in good detail, it is probably worth checking. I think the IAT sensor might be a problem electrically for getting cold (if you got 24 error code not -24 it thinks the incoming air is -50c) and it covers how to test the sensor (although most likely it is either not plugged in or a wire is damaged)
    • Use the GKTech subframe bush and bring your subframe 10mm closer to the chassis. You'll need to fix an exhaust hanger to suit. One of the best mods I've done.
    • You'd really have to pull it apart further to know, it least you can be confident that the one heading to the back is not connected any more. There was once a ground on the shifter seal mount too, your head unit issue could be that simple
    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
