Guy i went into jaycar and brought a $15 cassette tape that plugs into the tape deck and the other end into my iphone the guys says the music i have stored on my iphone will play thru the car speakers.

So i plug it in and press the tape into the deck and full volume sound very very fussy and faint music.

Any ideas ?

Almost.

Consider this your first and final warning.

There is absolutely no reason why you need to start 3 topics with exactly the same thing.

On top that there are countless audio threads already.

If you feel there's a valid reason why you did need to start 3 topics, please PM me and let me know.

Bobby

yep spend more money and do it properly.

I dont want to spend 100's of dollars just to play music in the car when the tape should do the same thing for $15 . I would prefer burning the music onto cd and putting them into the car , i thought this option for $15 yeah il give it a try.

So nobody knows why the music isnt loud ? Could there be a problem with the tape deck i dont have any tapes to test it

Check you have the headphone jack plugged in properly.

If the head deck has an option for playing the other side of the tape, try that. Or flip the cassette over and put it back in.

Hi and thank you for your help. It does have an option fof playing side a and side b which i tried. I also made sure the aux end is all the way into the iphone and it is, i have no idea whats wrong im going back to the store tomorrow for some advice.

I would like to know how to check to see if the problem isnt my tape deck.

By full volume do you mean the volume on the deck? Have you tried turning the volume up to full on your iphone first?

But yeah, quality will always suck using this technology.

I had one of these tape adaptors back in the day for my first car (used my portable CD player) and the cassette part was designed so that you could run the cable out either end, which enabled you to flip the tape over. If you had the tape in the wrong way the heads wouldn't line up properly and you'd get the problem with the volume being too quite.

But I also remember having to take them back and trying a couple different brands before I found one that worked with my head deck.

In this case though, the V35 has a factory aux in, just need to get a bit of cable with a headphone jack on one end and wire the other end into the TV tuner in the boot.

Yes full volume on deck and full volume on iphone. I found out the problem is with my phone as i tried with another iphone and it works perfectly. I recommend this option for anyone who wants to spend $10-$15 to play music from your iphone / ipod to your car.

Yeah this one doesnt allow me to flip the tape . But for some reason My iphone wont work properly where everyone else does. So the problem is my iphone not the tape.

Thanks for all your advice.'

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
