Ok, i am having trouble with my P2k on my S14 with a RB26. It ran prior with a differant engine management, but the identical setup will not work for me when i am using the haltech ecu. Here is a copy of my map

its just got 1000cc injectors, i am trying to run this VE. I have the haltech wideband tied into the ecu wiring harness but there no way to make sure its working properly. This is a map for the e11 that i modified to suit my application. Like i said, on my other standalone ecu the car starts and runs fine.

Hopefully someone can look at my map and decide what i should do

here is a copy of datalog

any help would be appreciated !!

When you convert a map to VE, you need to redo the fuel map from scratch. if you have a look at the VE R32-R33 GTR maps that come with the Haltech software (for platinum pro) you'll see what I mean.

How come you chose VE over milsecond timing?

how much power you aiming for? with 1000cc injectors i assume you going for big power, your target AFR table looks a little lean.

Also your engine cc is set to 3000cc, it should be 2568cc (unless you have oversized pistons)

ahhh ok, the engine is slightly over 2640 it should be saved in map grrr lol i will look at it now, i have a holset hx35.. but its not installed yet, i wanna get car running good before i install it

also i went with VE for ease of tune with closed loop, i know i wont make the most power but it will be consistant and reliable

did you have a look at the map for the R32-R33 Platinum Pro? Also when you say it doesn't start, does it turn over? Does it sound like it wants to start?

i looked at the maps and changed almost everything but i still didnt have any luck, i was told to check the home channel to make sure it was doing that for inj pulse and that was ok. it just cranks and no turn over,, doesnt even sound like it close either

hmm i noticed in my fuel base map, there is not a fuel setting for 0 rpm and on the pro there is a fuel setting, i think my car cranks around 130 rpm ish, so i think i found the problem right there but i cannot change it

have you checked to see if all the sensors are working?

on the 30x30 map try setting the cells around idle to about 40%. also might try changing the load sources to TPS and not MAP, as the rb26 has ITB.

tried changing the value to 40% i am going to go over the timing one last time, and go over all sensors, they look good, but tps might have a problem. its actually a rb25 with rb26 harness, and a q45 tb

About that TPS, had a problem with a customers EVO IX, the Haltech (PS1000) ECU hadnt registered that the TPS was connected, though it was, so it simply kept it from starting! Solution was to disconnect and connect it up again :D

Have you had time yet to check if it gets a spark when you turn the key, or if the sparkplugs got fuel residues showing that they're getting fuel? Also we had a problem with the cold start settings, might be because of the fact that its still snow here, but it was not getting enough fuel to start at these the low temperatures.

Good luck :P

When you turn the key on do the pumps prime? also when it's cranking, does the software display any rpm, that will show you if the CAS is working properly? the same page of the software should also have the TPS signal. Are you using a plug and play harnes?

ok i made some progress, the timing needed to be adjusted slightly, i set it to 0 and locked it and adjusted it that way, once i was done i unlocked it. now with a little throttle it wants to start up but dosent go all the way. i am also confused about if my wideband is being seen, i tied it into the factory side of the harness its the haltech wideband but i dont see any calibration options or anything reading it, i wish i could make it display AFR and not voltage, also i am in NJ (usa) been like 70 degrees whooo!!!!

and yes pumps do prime up, i am getting a rpm displayed of around 150-300ish i am using a patch harness, the tps signal is looking awesome, actually i have a question it says its 100percent for tps but when u push the throttle in it goes down kinda like an opposite

Sounds to me like your TPS wiring is backwards if its reading 100% at closed throttle & going down as you push the pedal...

yeah lol i made the change for that tonight, now i just gotta mess with it again tonight wish me luck, i was told i should of done an ignition lock at 15 degrees and not 0, sucks i am alone and dont have a helper

A mate was having problems with the base map supplied to him with his Haltech when trying to get his RB24 running.. if you want, I can send you the map from my stag. It's an RB25 Neo though but it helped my mate get a base to work with for his RB24 so might help get some of the basic parameters setup for running an RB.

Forget about the wideband until you actually get the engienrunning - O2 is ignored until constant throttle (cruise) conditions).

RBs like LOTS of ignition timing to start - in the order of 40 degrees.

i hate to spam my own thread, but when i did a wot and closed read voltage on the TB, it gets the proper voltage, but the reading still says 100% throttle. i configured it from the main, inputs and TPS, if it helps i am using a q45 tb, i was able to make it come up as 0 throttle by setting the voltage on both 100% 0% the same. now it looks like the fuel inj are working, but plugs look very bad, i am going to change them in morning and go frm there. so now my issues remains, car wont start, car always thinks its at WOT unless i unplug tps or adjust voltage, but it reads a voltage when i goto WOT or CLOSE throttle. but i can verify that the car is set for 15 degrees of timing when i did the timing lock on 15 which i was told is btdc. anything else i should check ?

What wideband you got? The one i got from haltech (innovative from memory) needs to be configured in the setup (Press f4), and you can set the AF vs voltage table, and the instrudtions said you need to be very particular with the wiring. But the car should start without the wideband.

Sounds like your TPS is on the wrong way, i think from memory you can change the 0% and 100% voltage values. ie the base map might be wrong, not the wiring. Having said that, i swapped a E11 out for a PFC on the weekend, and needed to change the TPS wiring to get the PFC to work, so the Haltech might need the wiring chaged from the factory settings.

Factory base timing is 15deg for RB20-25 from mem, and 20deg for RB26

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 馃槀 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
