BoyWhoCriedWolf
The only other car I got similar enjoyment from was my 300tt, it had around 300rwkw and was a bit mental. Good times. N1GTR
Yeah, was NA. I was more referring to the handling. We're going off topic, but so was I For perfectly smooth roads the GTR is great, the Supra with a modest wheel alignment is SO good on every other road, and on track is still great handling while being very compliant oaround corners but still not driving like a boat Anyway, this is a skyline forum so i'd better have a more biased view hahaha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/316463-gtr-presence/page/3/#findComment-5180886 Share on other sites

thrtytwo
My first car was an R32 Gtst (no i wasnt 16, i drove my parents cars around for 2 years and saved up) It was my dream car, i was soo happy, soo tastefully modified, always knowing that i would keep it and get a 34 gtr later on, well I sold my 32 last year just before xmas and lately im REALLY missing it, but instead of buying another cheap car for now im getting HUGE cravings to get a GTR now. Been researching and finding out what i need/want to get the car exactly how i want it, saving HUNDREDS of pictures, in my head its finished already, IM OBSESSED this is the power of the GTR haha it just has "presence" as the topic title says, I wont be able to get one until mid next year, but im already in love with the car before I have it. Ive driven my mates 33GTR, relatively stock, with a tune it has 350hp and ran a 12.5 recently. the power delivery is just incredible, really pushes you into your seat. In a way a 2WD never could IMO I literally walk around making car noises all the time haha, anyway enough of my love story, justwanted to illustrate the power and influence the GTR can have on people even when they dont have one !!!.....yet Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/316463-gtr-presence/page/3/#findComment-5181181 Share on other sites

OMG513
i think i may have got the answer boys, or even just part of it. Its INTIMIDATION. When your driving an R34 GTR it intimidates the driver next to you, it makes you feel superior, through its looks, sound and the power below your right foot, these factors combined creates an illusion in your head making you feel special... hence the special feeling. What do you guys reckon? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/316463-gtr-presence/page/3/#findComment-5183178 Share on other sites

I started off driving parents car while saving and then bought my 32 GTS-T (the one on the left below) which I loved! I was lucky enough to be able to go from that to my 32 GTR (the one in the middle below) . I love the 32 shape and always wanted a white one and driving the GTR is very different to the GTS-T I will admit, but my GTS-T will always remain special to me being my first car and it was still a lot of fun to drive. Since I bought the GTR though I don't see how I could ever sell it. It really feels like a race car for the road and I think that is what makes it so special Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/316463-gtr-presence/page/3/#findComment-5185225 Share on other sites

CeJay
Found myself thinking about a 32 gtr more and more, even though i love my gts4. Also it seems to me the prices of 32 gtr's have dropped a bit of late. hylian
Also it seems to me the prices of 32 gtr's have dropped a bit of late. They have indeed but you've gotta remember these are quite old cars now. Purchasing the car is one thing, insuring, day to day costs and replacement parts are another.. I am saving alot of coin for a chance to own a "godzilla" though. I would prefer to buy one from a SAU member for a bit more than an imported or stock dealer model - things would probably have been fixed up on it as well as a bit more poke than standard. ras1983
In my experience, a S8 RX-7 is a much more exciting drive than a GTR. If you want to talk about presence, get someone to take you for a drive in one. Are GTR's good? Yes. Are they the greatest thing since sliced bread? No, there are plenty of other cars that are just as nice (if not nicer) to drive. The most FUN car I've been in was a second generation MX-5. Handled like a go kart, stopped on a dime, and was lots of fun. N1GTR
^^^Everyone has different tastes, but i cant believe an RX7 is more fun that a GTR. Have you been in a fast GTR to compare it to? ras1983
Yes, my bro in law had a low 11's R33 GTR. It's the fastest car I've ever been in, but it wouldn't be fair to compare it to a RX7, since I've only been in a stock RX7. Stock vs stock, the RX7 was a lot sharper, felt a lot more like a sports car, and the cabin felt like a cockpit. And, it sounded a lot nicer than the GTR and is easily the best looking of all of the imports. It didn't have the outright pace of a GTR, but it was at least as fun, and I thought it was actually a little but more fun. (I may have been exaggerating in my previous post :-D ). My point was just that GTR's aren't the be-all and end all, and this thread is a little weird in that many of the posts make GTR's to be the greatest car on the planet, when there are many other awesome cars. I was exactly the same, when I drove mine for the first time I reacted the same way. When I'm buying a car I try to be nonchalant and not let on how much I like it, but I couldn't keep the smile off my face.
