im painting my gtr in 2 weeks as im over it being green and i want it to be fresh when my new engine combo goes in.

ive got a dry carbon bonnet and boot coming, cf top secret rear diffuser, cf front abflug diffuser, cf n1 side pods and cf n1 lip to contrast it a bit and a fair bit of carbon in the interior also.

im leaning towards white as i love white and it just looks clean.

wheels will be 18x10.5 for track and 19x10.5 for every day. and in complete contrast so depending which colour the car is maybe white black or orange haha

jus seeing what everyone else thinks if they could do the same and get some feedback

oh and i hate black, pink, etc etc lol

thanks for the input in advance!

I also like the blue, but I like more subdued colours. The carbon bonnet you're getting would then look a bit more stealth-like. The white's pretty cool too but both the white and "galaxy grey" are pretty close to existing R32 colours, so the other two (blue / purple) would make your car look more exotic if that's what you're after.

The green on your car is already a custom colour? Never seen a green GT-R before...

ok im not voting nor do i often lend advice to the cosmetic section cos most of you end up doing dumb shit to your cars anyways ie balsa wood spoiler mod (lol)

anyways - the colour of car you want is going to be the one YOU decide on - nobody else

all i have to offer in the way of advice would be bias from myself... being that i personally drive a white car, (not pearl - it's ACTUAL white)

and... all colours look fantastic... hands down they would all look good on a GTR... thing is - how "aftermarket" are you trying to make the car look? are you going for a "modified" look or a look that whispers to you...

if modified - purple and blue are great

the galaxy grey .... i wouldn't bother - it's too much the same as what you already have to warrant getting a respray i think

but that white - white is a very under-assuming colour... here's some things i have to tell you about white

it NEVER shows it's age (my car's 20 years old and the paint is still better condition than most newer cars)

it makes cars look brand new - you compare a white R32 and line it up next to a black / charcoal one - you'll see what i mean

it NEVER goes out of style

it's a grown ups colour - none of this wasabi green / burnt orange / electric blue crap you see on commodores now

it doesn't attract unwanted attention from bogans telling you to drop a skid + less attn from police

it contrasts PERFECTLY with the other parts of your car ie: white paint on black tinted windows, black tyres, white paint complimenting nice wheels, white paint bringing out chrome headlights etc... and defining the gaps in the slotted GTR grill even more giving it that oldschool charming look - and hey, you're getting a diffuser and carbon parts... what better way to show them off??

white represents CLEAN. you see a white tshirt and you think CLEAN. white bedsheets, CLEAN... white peop - -(kidding)

purple and blue - looks GREAT at an autoshow off, but on the street looks a bit tacky IMO

not to shoot you down on your choices this is merely my opinion... but white is just one of the best colours there is

I think White is kind of boring... I have a White R33 and I think it looks great, but if I could re-paint it, Midnight Purple for sure!! lol

White is good, but not fantastic, that Blue also looks pretty Mint!

I would say either the Midnight Purple or Blue... But for neat stock look the grey would look pretty good.

Just my 2 cents

:ermm:

white with carbon bits = yummy

however a lot of people will say white is a boring color, but if your after that true JDM look (and with all those carbon goodies it seems like it) i would highly recommend it

ive got white and got only black painted parts on my 32 and it still gets heaps of appraise the cars 21years old and still looks the goods

hey ye the green is custom its not a standard green, but im over it lol

i agree with the comments about white for all those reasons and thats y im inclined more on the white than the others but just thought id get some feedback n see what others like and maybe i could be pursuaded haha

:D

white is boring but a fresh white white always looks good,

cant beat midnight purple on a gtr

but ild paint the carbon bits aswell (?)

i wont be painting the carbon bits otherwise id just have got normal fibreglass parts ye the midnight is coming to be my 2nd choice atm after white

white with carbon bits = yummy

however a lot of people will say white is a boring color, but if your after that true JDM look (and with all those carbon goodies it seems like it) i would highly recommend it

hey ye i iagree the white with carbon looks awesome and is a good contrast and white never goes thru phases of coming in and out of fashion

-------------------------

well after lookin at many pics and things its either comin down to white or midnight purple, white because i love it and great contrast and the timeless look and the purple because a nice deep gloss gives it that look and also gives the carbon parts a stealth look and less po po attention and also its not as common colour as all the others! so theres 2 totally different looks but i gotta pick which way i wanna go, thanks for all the comments ;)

f*kn hard choice ;)

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
