Fast Blinker Flash?

hey guys, ok so my r33 has a 400r frontbar in which the blinkers are in the kit itself, the previous owner disconnected the blinkers on the lights in order to wire up the front bar blinkers, this has lead to the car thinking 2 bulbs are busted and giving me that insanely annoying quick blinker, ok now the question i want to ask you gurus, is their any way to disable this quick blinker system at all (its pointless having it on anyway seeing as even if their was a light out somewere i wouldn't know because its constantly on the quick blinker) cheers guys

One possibility is that the incorrect wattage of bulb has been used.

The fast blink is not so fast that you can't see the lights "on/off". And I think if you use "hazard", the lights blink at "normal" rate.

yes, try using your hazards and they will blink at normal rate (even if you ever did have a bulb out). You should look into the wattage of the bulb first and secondly make sure that the wireing is not twist and tape and is terminals in heat shrink or somthing similar.

yea its fine with the hazzards, anyone have a part number or wattage or something i can ask for at a supercheap? cheers!

just pop another resistor in the circuit somewhere to simulate the resistance another bulb creates. ppl get this issue when upgrading to led indicators

you can buy a electric part(forgot name)from electrical shop $12 ech NZ,al is needed is to cut 1 wire an connect to 1 prong of part and the other to lites. pretty simple really just slows down number of flashes per min

As Basti said, the circuit is looking at resistance, and you have half as much as you need. An inline resistor should fix the problem, but I don't know off the top of my head how much you'll need.

At a guess, i'd say you could measure the resistance of one of your bulbs (multimeter on positive and negative of globe, which you take out to test), and then buy two resistors of that value and then wire them inline somewhere. (one for left, one for right)

Replace the flasher can (relay) with one that will work for LED's and you shouldn't have a problem. Something like this. (This may the incorrect pin configuration, so please check first)
