Life after skyline! Can it be done?

Recommended Posts

Life after a Skyline ain't bad, I keep alternating between Supras and Skylines (had three of each now over the last few years), but got it out of my system now... I think... My R33 will be gone in about two months time as I'll flick it before the rego etc runs out so I'll find out then :P

Wranglers are abit of fun, but personally don't like them to drive, the Cherokee are a bit nicer to drive, and appear to have more power from the same engine (142Kw?).

yeah i had a vl turbo (yellow bt1 chaser) sold it and got a 4 runner then after 2 years of 4x4 i wanted to get back into vl so i sold 4x4 and bought r33 then i bought a 4x4 as well ...a nissan patrol and havnt been happier.Although r33's are fun climbing big rock walls and mud pits can sometimes match it.

;

but the sierra is a bit small, and the wrangler has a 4 litre 6 six cylinder  :P

I take it to Tassie every year for 10 days fishing and while it's a little cramped it will go anywhere. Plus mine is the coil sprung model so it's got great tractability.

I might even strengthen the internals next year and put a small huffer on it.

I wouldn't know what life would be like after a Skyline because i haven't owned one yet!

My plan is to get an R33 GTS-T and drive it for a few years while i'm young and still able to pull! Then i'll probably end up getting a 'sensible' car when i get a mortgage, probably something like a Golf GT TDi (6 speed, 150bhp, GT suspension and kit, modifyable to 180bhp and 280lb/ft, 45 mpg).

I know it may sound sad but i know of a guy in the UK that ran a GTS-T for 9 months and had to sell up because it cost him so much to run. He loved the car to bits, but he said the fuel economy and insurance costs just killed him financially.
