Raising an old thread here...

Whats everyones views on the tint job now that theyve had it for abit?

Could someone also PM me his contact details so I can arrange to get a car done (provided ure happy with ure job :D)

I would love to know what people think too as I need to get my car tinted now that its arrived.

Don't suppose someone wants to organise another group buy? :(

Lucien.

I got 38% all around, although if I could do it again I'd go slightly darker, perhaps mix it up a bit too - like 18% on the rear quarters, 28% on the rear windscreen and 38% on the side windows... I've seen a couple of auction pics of cars that had really dark rear quarter windows and they looked very nice..

i got 15% with a slight mirror done all round on my vn commodore....they r awesome......

but be very careful of them for the first fortnight or so.... i put a lil scratch on drivers widow with a buckle on a bag, and get annoyed with my self every time i see it

would extremely recommend getting robert to do them (and i would pm you his details, but i have lost the email....) are they not in the thread somewhere?

Lucien I ended up with a few bubbles in my rear windscreen. I took it back to Robert, who tried to remove the bubbles, but after he saw that I wasn't happy, offered to redo it free for me. That was like 6 months ago and I still haven't got around to get it done (lazy I am), but I'm fine with it.

He also tinted my Tarago and a mate's 33 in the group buy - both of those cars no problem.

Well if people want I'm fine arranging a group buy? :) Who's up for it?

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
