just found this thread.

i noticed a bit of pressure drop especially in 1st/2nd, nothing alarming, but thought it odd.

those that have contributed to this thread a while back, how are you guys getting on with filling it to where you have??

on a stone cold engine, where is your oil level on the dipstick?

on a warm engine, say after 10-15mins after shut down, where does it sit?

im on a stock sump, jun pump, tomei baffle and head restrictor, i filled to just above the H.

but going by this thread, seems it may want to be closer to the hump than that.

ill put an extra 0.5ltr in and see what happens, cant harm anything a little extra oil on a pump like the jun.

??

whats to question?

i run a stock sized SUMP, and an uprated JUN oil PUMP

(not sure if you read it as stock pump and jun pump?)

anyone care to let me know how there doing running a bit more oil with your setups?

I would say that they would be running more oil because they are smart. If you are running a stock capacity sump with a higher flow oil pump and you go to the track, I think that your pump will drain your sump. Hence, bigger pump = bigger sump

Piggaz was doing track days with an overfilled sump with no problems

he had a Jun baffle though and his N1 pump (that is no longer serviacable might i had :D) has a bit less flow then you

i ran around the streets for 6 months with 400RWKW and a JUN pump on a stock sump with no problems... Filled the sump to 6L

420rwkw+semi slicks+ track use...

it needs to have a baffled sump.. overfilling works to an extent but i properly set up sump with baffles and trap doors is the second best thing after getting a dry sump

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
