Hey guys just wondering where abouts did you guys trim on the series 2 front bar to fit the intercooler?(blitz retern flow) I've had my intercooler for years now but I'm sick of the passenger side hanging out and not alighning properly... Was just wondering where did you guys trim to have the front bar straight ? Cheers ,

Geraus.

You got to trim a shit load out of the middle where cooler sits and youve gota trim the rest off where one of the cooler pipe touches on the passenger side just keep trimming and putting it on til it doesnt foul anywhere.

Hi NO NEED TO TRIM ,

Just FOLD IT UP KEEP SOME STRENGHT IN IT ,

I DID POST FEW PHOTO BEFORE AS IT HAS BEEN COVERED BY OTHER`S WITH SAME WORRIES,

Good luck,

Fold? Do you mean heating and bending it, you might be able to do that in the centre part but where the cooler pipe fouls you have to cut.

What do u mean fold? Do I just heat it then push the front bar on?????

It wont work ull have to get it shit hot to do that and plus itll look shit if you just push it on while heated just trim it where it touches its no big deal.

its a fit and trial game....where the cooler hits the bar cut it. test again still hitting cut little more. do this untill it doesnt hit and fits good....gl use a proper cutting tool

Yeah man of couse got the reo bar there if thats the case you gota make sure thats trimmed enough so it sits perfectly like before and yeah as r32 drft4 said the best way to describe it is trial and error keep trying and eventually youl get it but yeah make sure your reo is sitting perfect first

As everyone has said, trim and trial...repeat. There's no easy way about it, but really, it only took me an hour of doing this to get it "perfect" and it was my first time using an angle grinder lol.

Hi No Need to CUT it ,just use ANGLE & FOLD IT UP ,

NOW if you CUT it you lose`s Strenght in REO,& can have a DEFECT + other headache`s you don`t need,

I FOLDED mine cold no heat & it`s good, just use slot with Hacksaw & away you go,i will remove my REO again & POST some Photo`s up,

Good luck ,

Pretty sure that's just as illegal chuckie, you're still tampering with and cutting the bar...and without getting into the physics of it, it does no better for the integrity of the bar IMO. Might be harder to spot though?

Hi WELL REALLY ANY REO MOD is not right but to CUT IT OUT :D ,

As i was a metalworker WELDER PIPEFITTER if you leave metal in must be BETTER then NONE  .

Any how few PHOTO`S of what I DID to mine ,

just pop it off and take to it with the angle grinder...we used a spray can to template the rounded piece.

what do you mean it doesn't line up?

WOW really ,hope you never have a INSURANCE CLAIM :D ,thank`s guy glad to see you need help ,

^eh? dont get it.

anyway, your cooler sits a little higher than mine. so ive already cut the plastic off the bottom of the front bar. so it lines up with the

trimming on the side and top of the opening.

also the intercooler should be on L brackets. the jjr brackets come with some elongation so you can move the cooler to line

up straight with the front bar. looks like yours isnt flush with the front bar?

also a dremel doesnt have enough grunt to work with the front bar plastic (have done two front bars bars now). get a chepo grinder from bunnings,

like working with hot knife and butter.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
