Why don't you think the airbox counts as an intake mod?

The rules state, only one intake mod is allowed. If you've changed your cooler, you must have the standard airbox. Granted it might be harder to dick you for it given it's an airbox, but if a cop wants to be an ass about it he/she will get you for that IMO.

i've got a trust cooler on it.

Isnt it still class as a airbox tho? so can still have 1 mod to intake (cooler)?

Is it factory? No.

Answers the question :P

Rest is here in the first page of the EPA/RW thread.

an arc airbox if f**king awesome dudes.

definaely worht the cash i spent getting mine. i have had a few different intake setups (stock airbox with upgraded panel filter, apexi pod on a 3 inch metal intake pipe etc) and the arc is the only one which u actually notice the difference over the whole rev range it is more responsive.

ive been pulled over many many times with it and never had a problem however petit is another story lol

How much power are you after, in my research i have found that the standard gtr airbox is good for 300awkw any way (some say closer to 350).

Ive got 350kw. Thats all im after, no need for anymore, just want cooler air going in. With the bonnet im looking at it has a vent right where the arc box has intakes.

Legally expensive :ninja:

But worth it if you have the dosh...

Actually, near impossible to tell unless they go ripping your front bar off, but it's still technically an intake modification replacing the standard side mount with an ARC...

Not that I don't believe you but I'd really like to see dyno graphs to back that up. Not being a smart ass here, actually being serious - do you by any chance have any? I've often wondered just how much difference, if any I'd see.

ARC coolers are rad, I had one (and still have a damaged but air tight one for an R34 GTT in my roof). Not sure what you mean about legal, unless you mean the factory mount replacements, which yeah - you'd get away with.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
