Help Me Make The Best Street Modification List For A R32

Hey All,

I recently getting into the import scene; I don't really know much about cars at all regarding the engine, driveline, suspension etc but would love to learn. I've currently got a very basic S13 SR20DE; I'm looking into getting a R32 4 door and make it into a nice streeter; nothing more but nothing less.

I read continuously on everyone's member's rides on this site; I love to see a project get build and what was once an average thing turns into a magnificent thing. Although I don't understand much what the people are doing it still interests me.

At the moment I'm making a modification list for my new car, this way I am prepared on what needs to be done and keeps me motivated to finish the project. I was wondering if someone could post any possible links or tell me where I can seek information regarding the 'ultimate street setup' for a 4 door skyline. I don't want to go overboard but I don't want to go under board either, I want it to handle and run extremely well. I know to do this, it's going to cost money and I know some people like to do it half assed and be hell tight on money, but not in this case. I see if I am going to be putting in the effort it should be done right and correctly, so I am prepared to spend whatever it takes to get the best of the best for my car.

So what would be the best and potential modification list regarding the best brands for the, so for this is my idea:

I know most of you guys are going to say go re-search which I will,. I know I am a 'newbie' and I'd admit that, but I feel like I have to learn some how and without know mates know anything about imports and performances modification this is my resort to help me.

Anyway sorry for the long post and I hope I can get my head to understand everyone.

I'm open to all opinions and I may admit I may have gone overboard so feel free to scratch parts out which won't be really needed.

- R33 GST-T Brake Conversion

You wont need a z32 airflow meter if you are not upgrading turbo, injectors and getting a tune.

Cut out all the rice and spend the money on performance mods (injectors, turbo, tune) or suspension bushes (adjustable camber, adjustable castor)

perfect setup for the engine there imo ^^ , gtr intercooler is fine though . I personally have a dead set hate for king springs for personal reasons , but really you need to explain what you want to do with the car (i.e drift , drag , circuit or street .. or all of the above) before getting into suspension setup . if i were to go and buy new suspension for my self it may be totally different to what you need if you understand what i mean? , if you want detailed to the Nth on what i would do to one , and why , i will tell you , but it might not be what's good for you . what about wheels tyres and body?

Thanks to you also Toffy, thanks for your input and opinion. The reason why I am going spring's rather then coilovers is because I did research and the outcome of it was to have springs if just daily driving and being a steeter. You will feel more comfy and it will satisfy your needs compared to coilovers, hence why I am going to springs but I am thinking about tein super streets but I don't know. I need to look into more detail I think.

I was a bit suss on kingsprings thinking they were for the commodore bogans. However what makes them great is that they are progressive spring rate. So daily/city driving they are soft, once you push them, they stiffen up and provide the stiffness you require

So they are a great combination with good quality bilstein shocks. Coilovers are linear spring rate, so you either have very hard all the time or very soft all the time. I like the flexibility of progressive hence my choice towards kingsprings

Also i believe those tyres you listed are overkill if its just a streeter, get some bridgestone Adrenalins

+1 !!! great streeter setup. also add a decent diff of some sore depending on what you want the car for... 1 way / 1.5 way / 2 way.... decent seat / gtr seats.

i believe one cheap mod that makes a massive difference is solid bushes on the rear sub frame, tightens up the rear end and stops alot of roll.

^^ commented . the air flow meter is just a sensor that meters the amount of air travelling through the pipes for the engine to ingest, z32 being 80mm and reading a higher voltage means your tuner can adjust your air fuel ratio at higher air flow rates (more power)

where is the turbo upgrade? Youve listed every supporting mod except the turbo.

if you not replacing the turbo, you dont need gtr injectors or z32 afm. They are only required once you start pushing 200kw+

Suspension setup sounds just like mine Superpro is another company which makes suspension bits for skylines, they are competitive in price so have a browse of them.

Look at QFM HPX brake pads, a cheaper and better option (imo) than bendix's

R33 GTST front calipers can also be used for the fronts (prob cheaper than gtr calipers)
