for a big turbo do you mean a GT30 - 40 ? Would they bolt on or need oil and water line to be fabricated.

Also I found out from my exhaust guy that his supplier will be getting X-force tuned length turbo manifolds to suit RB25 for about $700 plus fitting, they look really good too as they are totally stainless.

I have decided what to do,

bleed valve

K&n filter (of some description)

hybrid front mount

power fc

veilside combat R bodykit

bosch fuel pump

720cc injectors

Z32 AF meter

X-force tuned length turbo manifold

C's short shifter

twin plate clutch

then maybe a gt 30-40 and a set of forgies

I should be able to do this for under $10 grand (hopefully)

Not trying to be the bearer of bad news... but it'll cost you a tad more than 10g's for all that.

Im going through... or have gone through a lot of it already :D

bleed valve - $80

K&n filter (of some description) - $80 ?

hybrid front mount - $1200

power fc - $1200

Veilside combat R bodykit ???

bosch fuel pump - $280

720cc injectors - $1000

Z32 AF meter - ???

X-force tuned length turbo manifold - $700

C's short shifter - $500-$700

twin plate clutch - $1500+

then maybe a gt 30-40 and a set of forgies - $3500 (you'll need a wastegate too so add $700 and a new dump pipe $200, and then oil/water lines etc $300)

That comes to a rough ass price of $10.5k

Excluding the body kit that is mind you... i dunno what they go for :)

That is not including any labour/tuning/installation of any of the items too dont forget.

If your doing it your self then that'll be nice... if not... i'd figure in around another 3-4k for that at the least.

So then your looking at more to the tune of 15k.

But before all that you gotta seriosuly think about brake/suspension upgrades to be safe out there on them roads, and also a DECENT set of tyres. Not cheapo rubbish you get for $200 per tyre.

So there goes about 4k... :D

Cars cost more than women. But at least they appreciate it :D

What ash said, start saving your pennies, i've got all that execpt i got ebc instead of bleeder and no veilside kit and no forgies (as yet)

Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated.

The url for the body kit is below...

The web site it is for sale on says $1500 for entire kit unpainted.

hehe.. true.. no way can you build up a 250rwkw car for under $10k these days.. Best way to do it is to get a car with most of the basics covered. If you're starting from scratch, you'll be up to a car that cost you $40k, and is only worth $25k.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
