You are correct, it is the type 4 board. Just go directly to Nistune, they are in SA. Check out the Nistune site http://www.nistune.com/ ordering tab. It maybe better to email Matt at Nistune [email protected] or PM him on SAU, i think his username is "darkhalf", you may also be able to work out a deal for supply and install a bit better than the listed price on the Nistune website.

dont go and see brad at boost automotive - he will tell you to get a haltech, charge you 3 times as much as a nisstune and the tune will be average at best

i've heard a fair bit of praise from gt garage in hobart but its a bit of a drive but they have a 4wd dyno and can tune anything well - best to give them a call

it is a type 4 board, but the tuner will also have to have the nisstune software

and i dont think anyone in lonnie aside from boost auto have a dyno

hobart or dev are prob gonna be your best bets for a good tune

or get someone with a nisstune with similar mods to send you their tune file

you can get the nisstune boards installed by anyone who works with electronics - eg tv repairers etc

just read on the Nistune forums that Matt from Nistune is in the process of moving so there might be a lack of response from him on enquiries. probably be better off getting a workshop to supply and install if your keen on getting it do really soon. is a trip up to melbourne with you car out of the question? there are a few good workshops there that deal with nistune.

I know I might be pushing my luck but is anybody aware of any Nistune tuners in Cairns. I've checked Nistune site and googled around and nothing. In the last few days I've shot a few emails to workshops with 4wd dynos but I'm still waiting on replies.

if you only have minimal mods one of the workshops down hear may be able to preload a tune onto a board for you, thats if you cant find anyone up there to do it. Nistune isn't really that hard to tune and anyone with tuning knowledge should be able to do it, just gotta find someone up there with a software license or purchase one yourself.

Yeah I'm not in too much of a hurry, still got to free up some coin with the wife  so im happy to sit tight a bit before contacting and organsing the board with Mat. I like the idea of a preloaded tune, def worth looking into, my mods are pretty standard 3" system, FMIC, boost control. Ideally I will hear something back from the 2 workshops I emailed up here, so I know how much i need to outlay for the board and tune. The 2 places I emailed about Nistune and cost for tune are http://www.svscairns.com.au/ and http://www.claservices.com.au . If I don't hear anything I will give them a buzz when im ready to go.

anyone know anyone from melbourne can tune and install nistune? i want to get my S2 install nistune as well, thanks guys.

http://www.nistune.com/ and click on the workshops tab, scroll down till you get to the list of VIC workshops.

check out Status Tuning, they are a site sponsor and give a reasonable price for install and tune. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fa...tr-t306749.html

We took mine down the M1 on Sunday night for abit of a street tune with Ben (from Gavin Woods). More boost, better pick up, fuel needle hardly moves now... and we havnt even got to the Dyno yet :)

We changed Fueling, Limits (Rev, Speed, Boost cut is gooooooooooone).

Cant wait to get on the rollers!

I'm guessing no, but has anyone on here gone to the trouble of fitting a Z32 ECU to a series 1. I've looked on the Nistune website and read all about it. Really apart from a few small mods to the Z32 board it seems that it should fire straight up, even without a Nistune board installed. But this was all based on a R33. Z32 ECU's are cheap and easy to come by, so I might be looking to give it a go.

Only problem is it won't plug in but will work if you wire it in. I had an R32 ecu running my engine fine (piggybacked so that the original ecu could handle the auto and vct).

Yeah I figured it wouldn't plug in :bunny: but I had also thought of piggybacking. Also I guess the R32 ecu wouldn't require the mods that the Z32 one does because of the different injector outputs and twin knock sensors and fuel temp sensor etc...

The infamous brad from boost auto, i would never recomend anyone to go to him.

He f*&ked my car and hes done the same to one of my mates. It cost me a lot of money and time to fix what he did to my vl with with rb25det. He recomended that i buy a haltech so i did and it was the dodgyest tune ive ever seen, he reckoned that it was producing 188rwkw.

When i got to melbourne and got the problems fixed he created they said that the power figure was 140rwkw, i dont know where brad got 188 from. Anyway they got 205rwkw and it was 100% more driveable than the shit tune brad did.

He wired up my mates thermo fan the wrong way and my mate cooked his $30,000 engine, wasnt inpressed and ive heard of so many other people that hes screwed around. Doesnt know what hes doing, way out of his league i think.

    • Bah! I can't see the point in custom number plates at all. I went to the rego office, fished through a box of "premium" plates (the ones that had the "not as tall" option for the front plate) and picked the one that had a 32 in it. That's the limit of the effort and cost I will put into number plates. The only plate that I'd consider paying for would be 2332, but that's not possible here because it already exists from probably 90 years ago, and it would cost a fortune to obtain it, if it were available.
    • After chasing my tail with LS results..... and cheaper than a turbo swap... How confident are you that the dyno is accurate relative to other results? How fast is the car - What MPH does it actually run? Is this similar to what people running this power would expect?
    • Hi mate I am having an identical issue with my 98 R34 GTT. The engie suddenly cuts out under load at about 3-4k, black smoke out exhaust. Almost feels like traction control kicking in. No CEL but still going to check codes later today. Car was sitting in the shed for about 5 months before hand and only idled a few times, took her out with about 1/4 tank, filled up and thats when the issues started happening.  Threw on a spare set of coils/harness and checked plugs which was no help. Recently had fuel pump/filter changed so surely thats not the issue unless condensation in fuel, I just havent had the time to drain it It's running a hi flow turbo, bosch 1000cc injectors, walbro 450L, Z32, Nistune etc... All about 2000km old.
    • I always wonder where the obsession with legal/illegal spacing on number plates in the UK comes from. Because it comes up in comments in every UK-based video I see on youtube. From my point of view all of your plates look a bit odd. Just because there are no markings whatsoever. In Australia we have the state that has to be on it. In Europe you get stamps and state logos. Yours look a bit like a throwaway draft that people then stuck with. And attached with blu tack so that it falls off at the slightest disturbance. Not trying to hate, but it's interesting how things are done in different countries. Do you have to follow a lettering convention when choosing a custom plate?
    • Hybrid sounds like a supercharger... It's half a turbo, with a belt to drive it! Oh wait, they're just called super chargers...
