Was in Campbelfield going to work, turned into the street across from Maccas. The car just kicked out in the wet, I started to steer right but it just kept going left and into the pole outside the truck rental joint

f**kin extremely pissed!! The guys at Maccas in their Skylines were very helpful, but either way -- FML!!

If any of you guys that were there in your Skylines and saw it happen, could you PLEASE PM me your number? I may need it as a witness thing. Thanks for your help again fellas

ahh so you were the dude Muztek was talking about in members thread, they were there for the mt macedon run.

i know the roads were quite wet this mornin but how did it just spin out....sure you didn't clutch kick or give it a bit?

Yeah unfortunately it was me. Na I didn't do anything out of the usual man. I found there was diesel on the roads from the truck rental place outside. Can you link me to the thread they mentioned it? I'm on my iPhone and not too farmiliar with SAU. I wouldn't mind a witness or two

seems to me like they're are different versions of events according to members thread.. :P

hey man i was there, we saw a cop car coming as we were leaving n i said to my mate..bet ya there going to that s15. if youd like i can witness for ya, i was the guy with the red hat on

I wanted a witness because the cops said "someone called and said you were doing burnout's" when u clearly wasn't. To the common person, the sound of tires screeching because the car has lost control will sound like a burnout. The guys in their skylines would have seen most of it take place and can verify that too, which would be an awesome help if need be

muztek can you pm your mobile number JUST in case they want a witness? Thanks again

Shame about the car mate but sorry I don't believe your story on how it happened. I'm thinking you saw a whole bunch of skylines and wanted to show off and it went really wrong. I'm sorry but a car just doesn't "kick out" without you making it.

This is what I think. I wasn't there and didn't see anything. Just thought I would make it clear just incase the fuzz get a read

COMP insurance at least?

You're certainly needing someone to witness that you weren't intentionally losing traction but...

as Peter asked above ^^^, do you have comprehensive insurance as well (for your car)?

from what i read in the members thread aint no accident.. :P

I'd say it was a crash.

And I'd also say that anyone willing to lie to the po-po to try and save the OPs bacon is a madman.

Sorry OP, nothing personal but I've been thru the ringer with the coppers many times and know how they operate. Anyone trying to help you will get taken down too.

Shouldn't matter, as long as you have comp and everythings set straight paperwork wise the car should be insured for this kind of thing. If you don't have comp... well it doesn't really matter how it happened, the car's gone.

Sure a car doesn't just jump into a pole from driving normally... but everyones showed off before and slipped, I know I have, fortunately there wasn't a pole in the way.

In stead of deciding if you're a good driver, a liar or not, I am so sorry that you have lost your S15. I f**king wept when my car was scratched on the front bumper in the drive way. I can't imagine how hard it would be and disappointed I would be in myself if I wrote my car off.

I hope everything works out!

Thanks for the support (sarcasm). To the guys that weren't there, please don't comment and give your bullshit insight. To those that were there, thanks for your real support as you would have noticed that I didn't overrev, try drifting, continue with the car while it was swinging out. One of the local workers in the area came to me as I was waiting to get picked up, and advised me that there is diesel on the road outside the truck-rental place and told me to take a photo of it. The police were pretty cool after I explained to them what happened and they said they won't bother with the court thing because of how it happened. I also didn't see the Skylines on the left until after I got out the car and saw a pack of guys running towards me.

On a side note to some of you clowns: When somebody's family member dies, would you say to them "I never liked him/her anyway?"

ps... erm.. I know this might be too early but I checked out your link for the sale and your rims are really nice... just putting it out there if you want to get rid of them (if they're still in good nick of course).

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
    • Here's an idea, answer the questions I asked you as they are trying to work out WHY the LSD will be binding up in a straight line.
    • You haven't driven many modern cars then have you? Most of them have sfa steering feel with their stupid electric bullshit steering systems.
