Ok for those of you that stuck to a twin turbo set up I'm after some info on what piping you all have!

I'm going to be fitting a new intercooler in the not too distant future and I'm going to change all my old crusty pipes/hoses at the same time.

Now I'm currently looking at a trust cooler and I know there is a matching piping kit to get for it. What I need to know is what other kit/parts to buy as I want to keep the "Twin turbo" pipe.

To make it clearer I have circled some of the parts I need in this picture. Currently mine are all stock.

Kat,

I just replaced the top hose in your picture with a no-name 45 degree sillicon elbow. Just found one the right inside diameter and trimmed both ends down to size.

The two lower pipes look like HKS? You'd be better off keeping those hard pipes, maybe just replace the sillicon joiners if they are getting old.

Cheers,

John

Sorry Kat, didn't look hard enough.

Same still goes for the smaller top sillicon bend, from memory the HKS kits (4 hard pipes, 8 sillicon joiners + clamps) were around the $700 mark. Got mine from Brissy, can try and find the sellers name if you like, or there's always Nengun or Jessie Streeter.

I didn't replace the larger sillicon pipe on the back turbo intake, but there is probably a universal pipe around that would fit.

Just to clarify, this isn't my engine this is an example with the actual hoses I'm after

I have the original shitty black one that came on the car!

Yeah if you wouldn't mind letting me know where that'd be awesome.

It's more those black bendy pipes that attach to where my AFM's used to be and the black one next to it.

I've been looking for kits but haven't been able to find the exact type.

HKS hard pipe kit from Brisvegas:

That kit seems to be discontinued on Nengun.

They also make a Premium Suction kit for some of the intake pipes, but don't see a 32 version listed.....

I have an HKS hard piping kit, should have showed you last Sunday! It made the stock airbox fun to fit.

Heaps of my car was/is HKS. Turbos are no longer, the old HKS foam pods killed them! I think the Japanese bloke who used to own it like that brand!

Can you send me a pic?

Oooooh that's nasty! I used to have those old HKS foam pods too but got the Apexi ones on to replace them quick smart.

I'll have to take one. Sure :P .

Yeah the previous owner figured not changing the foam pods for 5 years was a good idea, by the time I got the standard airbox and new K&N filter on it was too late :P .

Thanks!

EXACTLY the same with mine! They were almost totally disintegrated in little peices!

My car never came with a stock airbox and by the time it gets its next mods it will be doing over that making it irrelevant anyway.

Thanks to those that helped, I think I have what I need now. Big thanks JD for setting me straight!

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
