Hi Terry

Regarding this separate groups 1, 2, 3, .. when it comes to the cruise, some of the guys I intended to have come with us are not too happy about this arrangement because not all are in skylines nevermind R32s so their argument is " why should we come out with you when we are not going to cruise or see you all day long" and I see their point, most are coming just to see my car and be able to cruise with me for part of the day at least if not more.

So if things remain as they are we might not see all the cars come out due to the fact of friends being separated on a same cruise. What are your thoughts on the matter?

Regards

^^^ I understand what you and your friends are saying, and I empathise with you.

If you wish to cruise with your friends' cars, you can certainly do that; but it would be preferable if you and they drop back into Group 3 or 4. That means that your friends can be alongside you as you'd been hoping.

Why? Because we have 4 sets of shooters and videographers operating at three sets of locations.

1) Performance Imports Magazine photographer

2) MOTIVE DVD team

3) Official Skylines Australia videographer

4) Official Skylines Australia photographers x3

The three sets of locations are...

1) Tench Reserve, Tench Ave Penrith

2) En route up to Mt Victoria

3) Edge Cinema Top Carpark

If you decide to drop back, your car may (but not necessarily) miss out on being photographed or video'd (if you don't mind that). Should you decide to stick with Group 1, your friends can certainly mix with you at the start + destination + cinema. I do hope they come and enjoy themselves !!!

The shooters will want footage of the R32s all together; interstate ones and all.

Aleck, many thanks; and your tickets will be sent to you tomorrow :D

FYI...

Only two weeks until we kick off!

Here are a couple of pics of what we're giving away as Major prize number 2 - a 1/18 scale die-cast model of the 1993 BP TRAMPIO R32 GT-R Group A race car, by AutoArt. Limited edition, one of 3,000 units and comes with a numbered certificate.

All the major prizes will also be accompanied by an engraved plaque to commemorate the occasion.

As we're celebrating the R32 GT-R, these awesome prizes will be targeted to R32s on the day - so particularly if you're bringing a 32, make sure she's waxed and looking beautiful on the day! :D

Hektik ^^^ ??? I couldn't get out of 4th lol

You must be damn mad at those 'professional' suspension people who left you with loose wheel nuts man!!! Especially thru' those twists and turns up the Bells Line of Road!!!

Lucky: Matt was looking after you; and was probably the only one who had a torque wrench and a thin long socket that fitted into that space around your wheel nuts.

Lucky: Eric was still around; and was probably the only one who had heavy duty cables to help me restart my 'Line after I left my parkers on - feeling stupid.

We Organisers are so happy that you Kory, Matt, Nick and Eric could get to work on how SAU can and will offer a highly professional photoshoot on the day at The Edge Cinema at Katoomba. We want everyone to remember Kory Leung Photography + Matt's work + Nick's work + Eric's work (not to mention PI's work + Motive DVD's work) after such a big day out!

Attendees:- A new thread will be made on this matter by Eric - Pezhead. This will surely reveal how your car can look its best under camera lights and stationed in its cosy nook at Edge Cinema.

small vid of some of the cars that were there today :) - thanks sean

Thanks Shehan for taking care of The Drivers' Briefing prior to the Cruise.

And thanks Sean,

You'll be a great addition to our team of Organisers

You too, Nick!

* I'll adjust the Original Thread (OT) soon, but we Organisers are wanting all R32s (ie Group #1 cars) to arrive at Tench Ave before or on 8.30 am on 10th October > This gives you prime spots for photography purposes. Some cars will be arriving at 7am.

* It also helps us to take up prime positions on the day before most of the public arrive. You can get plenty of food at The Coffee Club from 7am onwards - we've reserved the northern balcony area for you guys - just ask the Owner/Mngr "Aaron". He's expecting us from 7am.

* More about food, if you don't want to sit down at tables for brekky, you can order takeaways at the point of sale, situated at the northern balcony.

* Eric - Pezhead will post up an overhead shot real soon as to where you should gather - but it's along that straight stretch of parking along Tench Reserve before you get to the Coffee Club.

Only  x13 to go!

Haha thanks Terry. It was a good day and yes, i tried to find Matt but theres so many users on here i got no idea what his username is. If your reading, again, would like to say thanks for hanging back and many many thanks for actually turning around and coming back!

Did not even see your car had its parkers on! I hope you enjoyed the pies and drink whilst your 34 got depressed and flat lined

Looking forward to the event, it's definitely shaping up to be a big one!

I had a nice run too. Everyone who is coming is going to love the cruise route, it's such an awesome drive. A good, fun road with scenery people would travel to see. Sydney siders who haven't been out that way are missing out!

The shoot location is awesome too, what a find!

p.s. I wasn't in to much trouble from the lady

i just realised how early i have to get up for this. :P i wont complain too much though cause i know there is people coming from interstate but anyway. can not wait. will be a good chance to start using my new SLR camera too.

Okay and now we have a couple of pics of our 3rd Major prize that will be given away on October the 10th to a lucky R32 owner - a 1/18 die-cast model of the CALSONIC R32 GT-R Group A race car, this one by Kyosho and also a limited edition.

Like all the major prizes this one will come with an engraved plaque to commemorate the occasion.

    • Was there ever a model of the Stagea m35 that didnt have a badge on the grill? I thought I saw that somewhere, some aero edition or something? I cant find it again? davemoto
    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
