Well due to bad weather in the Southern Highlands today was able to get some polish on the GTR and had time to fit some retrimmed leather seats as well

Hopefully better weather for next weekend and my partner Bianca can hold off giving birth to our first child who will be 36 weeks pregnant sitting in the passenger seat on the day.

See you all soon.

^^^ Yes, we Organisers wish Bianca and your li'l one well > no matter when. ;)

OK, because tomorrow's a holiday and Aust Post won't be back on deck till Tuesday, we've decided that even if you pay ahead of time, we'll reserve your tix for you > and you can pick them up on the day.

Alternatively, you can pay on the day for your cinema tix. The SAU desk is where you pay until 1.15pm.

But if you're a latecomer, you can pay at the door of Cinema #1 (- not at the Edge Cinema desk) !!! This is where we whip you and make an example of you!

Don't forget to pick up your SAU Membership Application forms if you aren't a member already. Nick is also there with SAU Merchandise.

It's too risky to rely on Aust Post this coming week. This 21st Anniversary is already a success for the Children's Hospital and SAU.

Thanks to all of you who've paid up front > makes my job easier on the day.

Weather report for Katoomba next Sunday is Max = 14, with possible shower or two.

(Sat is 18, partly cloudy > trend is therefore another Low coming in later Sunday - a bit like Bathurst in 1992)

good analogy terry, car is still not out of the shop and looks like it may not be ready in time, might stand alone on the highway and take footage of everyone coming up the mountain instead :D

We had a Bean Bag reserved for Shell, our Secretary, Brian. :(

But now it's Bianca's - and it's already in our equipm't car. We're One-Classy-Outfit here at SAUNSW!

Just like there are 5-star hotels; there's also a 5-star car club > and we're IT!!!

Yeah Matt, we knew back in June that our RB Bathurst could compete with the V8 one. :(

Now we just need to have absolute and total care in our driving. You tell everyone that in our forums.

Hoons will not be tolerated and as fellow Organiser NISMO mentioned to our committee, and OHY34H will at the Drivers' meeting, they'll be reported to Police.

This is "ONE BIG FAMILY DAY" ;)

Performance Imports know about it!

Motive DVD know about it!

And we've all organised it!

I won't be worried about it being on the same day personally, as long as I can get a personal TV going...

While I don't follow the supertaxi's any more, it is the one day of the year that is like Christmas for me. I don't miss it for the world!

Terry,

I (unfortunately) cannot make it next weekend. I'm being dragged to a wedding that I don't want to go to :-(

I have two tickets that I am donating back to SAU to do with whatever you want.

Vu from S.A. and Clive from Byron Bay are also late exclusions due to work and health issues respectively.

We at SAU really appreciate you guys donating the money back towards the Children's Hospital and also to 2x attendees who've been stung by a bank fee which was an honest mistake. Those 2x attendees can now get refunds of those bank fees on the day thanks, due to the generosity of those who had to cancel; and the rest still goes to the Hospital.

Here are some additional details about parking at the reserve, cruise staging area,

driver's briefing and parking at the Edge Theater.

Please be sure to head to the end of the reserve near boat ramp when you hear the signal horn for your Group.

Also keep left so normal traffic has room to pass.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
