Well basically it looks as if I'm being rat-f**ked into the getting the TTS *awaits tidle wave of laughter* yes you guessed it, it has come down to "what car looks better" to the Mrs.

Currently she says

BMW E46 M3 "Looks dated, interior sucks"

BMW E92 335i "Likes a lot, but looks like an old mans car from the back"

Audi B7 RS4 "Old mans car, has four doors, wtf are you thinking"

Audi 8J TTS "Fantastic LOOKING car, wow I love these (even though your face is screwed up when you mention lack of performance"

Porsche 996 Carrera "I like them, not fussed either way"

I even threw the SLK 350 AMG into the mix today as we parked next to one......she said "What the hell is that, it's tiny"

I've tried saying we can get her a nice cheaper TT that's not Quattro (to apease the 'looks' issue) and me getting something more on the awesome side...but it's being vetoed hard at the moment.

I've suggested we just do the rounds of the showrooms and go for some test drives and see what we can agree on.

She's not a massive fan of my car that's for sure, I got an ear bashing today because of it's noticeable performance increase since she got in it last week, bloody human dyno I tell ya!!!!

Show her Post #72? So is your loved-one trying to justify her admiration of the TTS looks? LOL

Thought of a Japanese car that may be OK, she doesn't actually have an aversion to the 350Z, I'll test the water there again....she does however have an aversion to me turbocharging cars after the R34 "gave her a headache" funny as I don't recall her helping me do that or go through any of the R&D of getting it working, or even getting her hands dirty??????

But if she dislikes the m3 interior what would she think about the jap cars interiors? I'm very unimpressed with the r34's interior although i guess the 350z would have a better interior it is the flagship model

This is the particular "Fail" with the E46, it looks VERY dated, plus the seats aren't that flash a design either

The 370Z is also not to her liking, the 'tick' shaped lights and the fact it looks a little over the top with the styling also lost her, interior is fine though hahaha.

it'll look better than the 350 in a few years tho.... the 350 already looks dated next to the 370 :)

compare it side by side with the TTs and see what she says... servicing etc will be heaps cheaper, and remind her about audi's terrible depreciation reputation

    • Didnt realise RB's had more then 1 head.
    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
