Actually when I got my car it did not have the ashtray, it was missing so my plan was to get some fibreglass and mask the entire front area and then trim the area to fit the AEM gauge and then filler it a little and rub it down and prime and paint. It came out alright I guess but now I have the entire V-Spec GTR setup with the ashtray so I removed it all. As for the gauges I am removing them to replace with a GTR V-Spec MFD setup some time this year. These gauges will go in my S14.5 setup. I also have the twin defi setup on the pillar as well.

I have since removed the LEDs from the A/C as it was a bit to much green as you can see :P.

What brand pod section are you using on the A-pillar? Most look like arse but that looks ok. I have to work out how to get my 5 Defi's into my car (3 centre pods, and 2 elsewhere) but just gotta suss options.

Did any R34s come with a factory A pillar mounted guage like some S15s did ???

Why yes, yes I do.

Oh look, it comes under definition three.

Definition: 1. made to order: made or built to order

2. making goods to order: making, building, or selling goods to order

a custom tailor

3. changed to suit better: altered in order to fit somebody's requirements better

Probably didn't need the PM OKBANANA, I just don't really see changing gauges in a hole made for a gauge to be 'custom'.

Especially after I did this myself...

man... those are some shit quality photos

When is it being finished?

Looks unfinished without anything behind the guages :P

There's a new mounting bracket there since that picture, and I'm going to make a front facia for it to look nice but can't decide between carbon fibre or stainless steel...

I'll be finishing that off when it comes back from the shop, they just had to be installed and wired before the work started...

As far as I can remember I think Greddy has a direct pod for the R34.

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
