Last question I have for you TiTAN, then everything is clear and I'm set - what exactly do you mean by "big can actuator"? The more I think about it, the more my brain hurts. Do you mean that the actuator itself is physically large, or just a higher pressure spring, say 16psi?

I'll have to read it thoroughly when I get home TiTAN...but I'm still not sure if I'll be able to describe/ask for what I want specifically, and might end up f**king around either CRD or GCG...or being f**ked around myself lol.

Just gotta work out what I need to ask for, and if they ask what I mean, be able to describe it.

What benefits does the HKS housing have? bolt-on? Keeping in mind I'll be going I/W to save having to get a new dump/police attention

Ifr its what i think it means, you can get in between size exhaust housing as per 3037 ie .68, but I didn't read the whole thread so I could be wrong and you'd probably be able to use their split dump setup back to the cat, so no custom work required. Bolt on stuff and easy as.........would be much cheaper in the long run.

Yeah doesn't say internal gate....though as per above above post TiTAN, if they were to ask wtf I mean by "big can actuator", what would I say? "err yeah dude...it's big. Like fat. BBW.....ask Boz, he'll know!"

No worries, I'll just tell them and hope for the best  Should be soon....as soon as I get a return email from ESP telling me how much the ECU will be, rough labour costs, whatever else I'll need and tuning, should be sweet!

I'll be getting a set of splitfires too, but will a FPR be required? I've read mixed opinions on when a FPR is required, but I've been told I will....so just thought I'd ask.

no fpr, use the stocker.

MTQ are a garrett distributor and had no trouble supplying me a gt3076 with the garrett housing, they also machined the gate to make it a bit larger to make sure it didnt creep.

i bought nismo 555s and went with the IW option on the stocker manifold. now going external gate and probably bigger injectors, if i had my time again i'd go external from the start. just something to think about

Thats a good point, if your not worried about the turbo looking different to factory then may as well do it properly with an external gate. And definitely go the larger nismo injectors as they similar price.

by "right sized" you mean not excessively large? Or not small?

The only reason I really don't want to go external gate, is because I'm too inexperienced/noob/ignorant to sort out everything I'll need for it, and then source it myself. If I could tell the workshop what I have, what I want, and have them source it for me without any surcharge (except postage of course) then I'd be all for it...

And it's a street car for quite some time it may appear...a defect like that will f**k me royally

right sized meaning not too small. the nismos are a quality injector and wont have any trouble providing a decent mix at idle with 740s. you'd be mad to buy 555s when 740s are similar/same price. you allways want more power in the future

    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
