I think it's 3km with mobile camera + cop's radar and 2km with standard speed cameras

hopefully i can use that as a defence and rule out the margin of error (3km's) and hopefully get it down to something like 98. I was speaking to my friend today who said he only saw me doing 100 to 105 and that i was slowing down right before i got flashed. none the less, its still a 6 month suspension, unless i get it down to under 95km's which is only 1 month suspension. (dreaming)

You can't use it as a defence because they already subtract the margin of error when they issue your infringement notice. Two speeds will be written, detected (real speed) and alleged (including margin of error). You get charged with the alleged speed.

Hopefully you did slow down but sorry to say this is a common reaction as soon as a camera flashes...you brake and then look at the speedo after you get flashed, trying to remember what speed you were doing when you got flashed. The speed is almost always higher than what we thought we were doing

Cops gonna knock on your door and give u a trophy..

But y were u doing 105 in a 60 zone anyway? U saw a hot granny walking by didnt ya? lol jks.

Fair enough if it was an 80 zone.

But goodluck anyway man.

95km over is more than 1 month suspension lol

<25 Over is a fine & points, 25-35 is 1 month then 36-45 3 months >45 minimum 6 months and this is when I checked a while ago, I'm sure it's alot stricter now.

yeah, detected speed 64kmh, alleged speed 61kmh.

$134 and 1 point.

LOL that sucks :(

I've been done on 2 occasions for doing 12km over the limit and they took of 3km each, so I just scraped under 10km, saved myself some money and points, luckyyy

court? well f**k, thanks, that makes me feel a f**k tone better. i dont give 2 f**kes about fines, i care that if the cops rock up to my door and my mum is home.

im thinking of going in to the cop station and telling them what i did just so they dont come.

Ask them if they can rock up and dress up as a vampire, and just tell your mum its holloween lol

Good. You'll get no pity from me.

And for the record, you haven't even begun to suffer yet :D

Well, i AM suffering waiting for an insurance payout that's kinda late.

And i do need a car for work too.

To the OP, has anyone come for your car yet? Please update us on what kind of penalties you ended up with.

Lol man.... Don't need to kick him while he's down :)

He's already gonna suffer from this, no car, no license, no shelter and no job, surely he doesn't need all of us to jump on his back to tell him he's stupid lols.

    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.
    • From my youth: GTi-R clutch change is a massive pain. The gearboxes are fragile? But the car is super cool and I want one 😢

    • Driveline vibration is resolved. I ended up loosening all my engine mount and trans mount bolts, giving it a good shake then retightening everything and it's gone... Let's just say I was surprised that fixed it.  I've been happily driving it around again but unfortunately put zero time into my direct port/constant pressure WMI setup. I'm on vacation next week, so I'll try and finalize it then.  On a different note, I spent all week fuel/ignition mapping 2x 216L V16 engines. Turbo's were burning glycol and we swapped them out for larger units. We also had planned emissions testing on site, so I figured I'd be there the same week to use their instrumentation and massage any emissions issues out if needed. This was a first for me. Fuel management is similar in certain ways to automotive (i.e air density as load variable) but very different in others. It's all PLC based and AFR's are controlled by air and not fuel. They use a control valve between the turbo and air manifold to control pressure which in turn controls AFR's. Due to this, target AFR tables supplied by the OEM are in pressures and not mass which really through me off. They use air pressure vs fuel pressure tables. I also relied on an O2 concentration sensor the emissions team had in the exhaust. Ignition timing was also all over the place and we were losing a fair bit of power. They're now happily sitting at 16-40BTDC depending on load. We were making about 1600kw at 900rpm at 90% load. Engines were running a lot smoother as well.
