Im looking to upgrade my exhaust from the catback. At the moment I have a 3.5 inch custom dump running down to a Xforce 3inch cat and x force 3 inch exhaust.

Tried Castle Hill Performance Exhaust, but they seem pretty convinced that it is impossible to fabricate a 3.5 inch exhaust that will get close to 92-95db.

I have no issue spending the coin on a decent custom exhaust and cat setup, but am really looking for a workshop in the sydney area, that can do the fabrication (the easy part), and know enough about the job to get the right components in to quieten down the forklift.

Personal recomendations appreciated, particulalry if you have a contact that knows their skylines and how to make them whisper rather than growl.

Thanks

Mike

I'd give Russell a go at Windsor Exhaust he makes everything from scratch and if you choose his product for the making of the exhaust he gives you a 10yr guarantee his very upfront and won't do anything stupid to your car that doesn't need it.

Lambros at HI Tech mufflers in Darlinghurst are awesome. I have taken all my cars there to have the exhaust done. Awesome service always friendly.

My current and last car were fitted with the Hi Tech stainless systems.Great quality, excellent fitment and not too loud. Its been on the car for 6.5 years with no deterioration

Also a + from me for Hi-Tech. Helpful & Great quality. Also great when cruising... exhaust only starts to scream when I plant my foot or when Im in and above the 3500rpm range.

    • It's almost certainly a reluctor generating an "AC" waveform. No, ECUs don't generally read those - they're usually set up for PWM square wave 0-5v stuff.
    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
