well would be at least 6 months and maybe $1000 fine.

I'm wondering why 'for legal reasons' he cannot be named/commented on? That doesn't make any sense to me that he's able to obtain a suppression order or something I would like to know how.

Although I would have thought this would have occurred Saturday night...

If its his first time getting caught its $500 fine 6 month license suspension and 1 month car impounded

Just because he was booked doesn't mean that WAPOL or DPP will follow through. I've seen them get away with assault caught on camera with only a reprimand.

I'm also speaking from experience.

Wow dude. It seems you have a story for everything. Just how many times have you had a run in with the law?

A story for everything, since when? Where have I stated that I have had run in's with the law? It seems you're getting somewhat defensive about people commenting about police. Do you work for them in some way?

I was bashed by a cop when I was 16 in the 80's and the bastard got away with it. A mate was provoking one when he was drunk one night and I copped it just because I was with him. I was even trying to shut him up. I even remember his name, would you like that too?

This didn't leave me with a scar to the extent that I dislike police just because of one tosser. That came 9 years ago after I bought my first HPV.

No one is getting defensive mate :/ Settle down.

He should be treated the same as everyone else

That also means he shouldn't loose his job

Be cool seeing a Police car driving around with "E" plates on :D

(Can someone photo shop me so I can visualise it?)

There u go bud. Only a 2 second job though  :)

I am still surprised they even wrote him up i thought cops had some sort of secret code. Just found this comment relating to letting him leave with the car.

[Acting Assistant Commissioner Michelle Fyfe denied the officer had been given preferential treatment by not having his car seized immediately after the speeding offense.

“(The surrender notice) is a new sanction that has been brought in,” she said. “Since January 1, nearly 500 people have been afforded that opportunity. ]

There is a secret code but not for random knuckleheads breaking the limit by such a large margin. It is reasonable to expect that a charge of this nature, if found to be proven, would be career limiting. I imagine redepolyment to another district (somewhere sunny lol) and a poor promotion prospects. Not to mention the verbal he will take from his collegues.

In the long run this charge would be difficult to come back from

In a career that requires you to have a license I would see no reason why he couldn't be sacked if he's unable to perform his normal work duties.

I guess he'll be desk bound for the next 6months :domokun:

He deserves to be fired and be plastered all over the media, seriously what example is he setting for us young people when we see those in the power, position and respect doing things like this, it gives me the idea that it is ok to do it myself.... obviously this is sarcasim as i know right from wrong but think of the children :domokun:

^ i would like to know how to do this just in the event it happens to me.

well the cop getting done for hooning makes me think he must have been doing something extremely stupid other wise they would have looked the other way. so i vote he should be raped by the hoon law and fired because dont u need a drivers license to be a cop. and what there probs going to put him on desk duty thats BS if i lost my license i wouldn't be able to attend tafe and get to RPH among other things so he should get fired.

Sources tell me there was a proby present and therefore an example would have needed to have been made.

If he was done by a camera then he would also have had the book thrown at him. It would have been the big wigs who told the media in order to illustrate parity in the law.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
