Hey guys,

New to the forum, but not new to skyline loving :D.

Anyways I've dreamt about this car since I was 12 or so... 7 years down the track I'm looking at finally purchasing one for myself :touch: !! Being a P-Plater i looked into what N/A options were our there for me. after reading through the forums it seems like the r32 GTS is a glorified Camry and getting a bit long in the tooth. However, the r34 non-turbo option really seems like a winner to me, going for around 15k+ with relatively low KMs on the odo.

My question is, is it worth it? It certainly seems like it would impress the mates (and ladies :D ) as well as looking like a bucket of fun to drive.

What do you think SAU?

yah, turbo ftw... i've had my turbo for about 4months and am already looking into more power, its stock standard, having never driven one when i got it, i would have been disappointed with any less power when i got it.. the non turbo variant just wouldn't be enough fun.

i would say definately worth it. i own 1 as a p-plater myself and even for a non turbo i love every bit of it. just had a little drag with my brothers evo tonight as well hehe. and yes you will always gets comments from the mates and the ladies lol. 15k + tho i hope your talking about a manual, if not thats a rip off. other than that best p-plater car i can suggest to anyone.

Yeah exactly the answer i was looking for, thanks mate! And yes I was referring to manual, is that the average price nowadays?

hey bud,

definitely worth it, that is the going price, some can be had for less, some for more, it comes down to what kinda of options you want with it, eg; colour, coupe or sedan, factory optioned/aftermarket bodykit or stock, etc... these things play a large part in the price for non-turbos, if you can't find one you want right now, just be patient for one to come across with your name on it, don't settle for anything less.

good luck with your hunt, be sure to post pics!

Buy a Honda Jazz kid. if you think an r32 is a "glorified Camry" than maybe skylines aren't really your cup of tea. as a P plater there are plenty of other cars out there that are cheaper, more fuel efficient, and easier and cheaper to insure, and will be better equipped for you to get to-and-from scout practice. are school holidays over yet?

i'd say the "glorified camry" saying would be something he read on the forums.. i've seen it mentioned a couple of times and he looks to have read a few threads..

just test drive the car your interested in and go from there.. no point asking the forums members if you arent satisfied with the power output..

Yeah i gathered it to be the general consensus of the forum and also i obviously wasn't referring to a GTS-T or even more so the GTR... power output isn't that big a factor for me right now.. since i can't actually drive anything with big power... :D

yes but if your gonna go spend 15k on a r34 just to sell for a loss in a few years and then get a turbo model.. IMO you are better off getting some cheaper car and sell that off later and get the turbo..

mate..word of caution before the moderators flog u for posting shite on the website... public announcements of racing or speeding on public roads arn't condoned ...esp if u drive a n/a gts ...its hardly worth mentioning

ah fair enough, didn't know that. cheers for the heads up =).

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
