just got a text from a mate that his car has been pinched from the enfield area

number plates are S942 AAM and i'm assuming it's been reported

it's a white series 2 dayz, distinguishable features being the wheels, eyelids and dolphin grill

Sorry to hear mate, hope they get it back all in one piece and they catch the dude with a sh*t load of stolen gear in it and he goes away for along time! Getting sick of this, makes me wanna not own a nice car!

alarm and insurance?

+1

certainly sad to see/hear of another import being stolen....assuming he had a alarm then thats just bad luck but if he didnt have one then its more so his fault for not having one.....i know i am being a bit harsh here but with all the cars being stolen lately you would be stupid not to have some sort of security....even an immobiliser...

hope you guys find the car in one piece and not burnt out somewhere....goodluck guys will certainly keep an eye out for this one

Sucks to hear another ones been stolen. Clublock em up!

Hoping it is the same tools that stole rodneys, that way they'll be driving it around and get spotted and hopfully caught.

Hope its found and in good nick. Will keep an eye out for it..

Yeah, time to ensure you've got adequate security. When I heard Rodders stag got nicked, I figured an immobiliser, hidden kill switch and club lock just wouldn't do the job no more ... so the stag is now kitted out with a full alarm install and gps tracker (and still using the club lock and hidden kill switch).

And I'm never usually very far from the stag, so lets see the mongrels come for mine :)

Sorry to hear about the theft. Hope you're lucky and you get it back in original/reasonable condition.

Yes alarm

Yes insurance

Without naming brands... If u have got min of rolling code and 3 point... Ur in playing with fire!

I know what alarm he had. And feck me its not kool!!

Will keep my eyes out for it :) Bloody hell.

what do you mean min rolling code and 3 point?

what would you recommend for an alarm/imobiliser?

Ima bit of a novice, but my understanding is that a rolling code is essentially a system that uses an algorithm that is unique to your alarm/immobiliser - so every few minutes the code that your remote sends to the car to disable it actually changes, based on this algorithm. This means that a near by crim cant just 'listen' for the unlock sequence and then replay it at a later date when you're not around; because the sequence will have changed and will never be useful again. Its the same way the 'RSA Tokens' that banks use, and some large companies use for Remote IT logins etc.

Im pretty sure Autowatch complies with both 3 points of immobilisation and rolling codes.

Oh man - not another one, see this car around a fair bit (before it was stolen), will definately keep an eye out. Making me nervous about mine now - but touch wood they'd have a hard job getting to it!

Thanks everyone. The car was stolen around 9.30pm which is weird because i know if i was going to steal a car i wouldnt do it at this time but they def must of know what they were doing, Were lucky we have insurance and that we have a second car to get around in. Just so frustrating that there were personal thing in the car. They are targeting the area an RX7 was stolen a few streets away monday night which i just found out and another friend had some silvia parts stolen from his house so if u live around the enfield area be careful, Dont want to see this happen to another person. Guess we just have to play the waiting game now ;) Thanks to all the guys that have msg'd josh i know thats really helped

You could see just how pro they are, if you start taking away the ECU from the car at night. Or option 2 which is to setup a sniper position 300-500m away, i mean hey if the Washington Sniper could do it.....

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
