just a quick one i have searched and heard good things about OBX manifolds

so my question is who has had one crack??

im interested in buying a set of twin low mounts for my gtr.

also

i have gt2560-5 turbos now still on run-in tune for motor but was wondering how would a pair of TD05 16g's compare also they have external gate ;)

i would like 500hp, maby a bit more but not sure if the 2560-5 will do it with out stupid boost on my motor

built bottom end

ported head

260-9.15 tomei cams

all supporting mods

i have obx dumps in my gtr and are good,

i orded obx manifold and they didnt fit so they where send back and gave my money back and i spent 4hr porting the std manifolds that flow great.

apart from them not fitting as the should they looked good lol i was just short on time to wait another 4 wks for another set to arrive or i would have.

they also come with a very good warranty life time warranty i think?

^ Yeah as stated factory manifolds are the way to go.

Ryan the -5s will EASILY make 500hp. Hell they make 500rwhp(370rwkw) on 18-20psi which is fine for any build.

You will crack 400rwkw on a bigger $$ motor and more boost however 370/380rwkw on 20psi is standard output to be honest - and thats with factory manifolds :D

I mean you are paying what $700 or so landed for OBX manifolds when Tomei ones are $900-$1000 landed.

If you really must/want to change them, i'd be spending the slight bit extra and slapping -5s onto those ;)

End of the day its a lot of dicking around and expense considering you will get no discernable performance gain. Add to the fact you are then complicating the setup considering what you have now will fit your requirements and then some.

Are you looking @ TD05 high or lowmounted?

they are low mounts im happy to keep the gt2560-5 and crank the boost up to 24-25psi if needed to make 500hp

also looking at modifying stock manifolds to suit twin 38mm gates

do you think there would be any performance gains in doing this?

reasion i ask is i have a 3" jasman exhaust on the car because my Kakimoto Racing N1 Dual Exhaust cat back is way too loud for street use.

There are no performance gains going to external gate, just over complicating everything.

Also that exhaust is too small - you need at least 3.5", more likely 4"

With two big/decent sized mufflers it won't be that loud at all. My 3.5" exhaust is around 90dB with two of the biggest mufflers possible - still makes power fine.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
