copilot doesnt work on 2.2 afaik, unless theyve fixed it. Ndrive is a good replacement for it.

ES File Explorer (estrongs) is a must. File browser. Can install apk's for you. opens media. does all sorts of shit. has a task killer incorporated in it too if you get the extra files. do it.

app2sd - for moving all moveable apps to sd. I know you can do it manually, but this finds them for you. lets you know if new downloads can be moved, etc.

zedge - for free ringtones, notification sounds etc.

jetVD - for downloading youtube vids to your sd card in mp4

rockplayer - for playing divx plus most formats.

camera 360 - for some really cool camera effects

ebuddy - for chat (msn etc)

angry birds (beta) - game. good stuff

amtalee - a real headfuck of a puzzle game. i love it.

shoot U - good game

The co pilot i have works on 2.2, im running 2.2 modaco rom http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5725927/Co...aps_Included%29 Just got ndrive and will see how it compares tomorrow.

I use astro for installing apk's, i have rockplayer for playing divx.

Will give zedge jetVD and camera 360 a go.

as tony said, jetvd, co pilot, ebuddy and camera 360.

all the apps i use are:

apn droid (for turning off data to save battery)

3g watchdog

ebuddy

facebook

trapster (tells you where speed cameras are)

mileage (tracks fuel usage/economy)

ringdroid (can cut bits out of mp3's to make ring tones)

calculator (my 2.1 ROM i installed didn't have a calulator)

compass (so i had a compass)

OI shopping list (shopping list app)

K9 mail (was having issues with the stock email app so got this one)

speedtest (speedtest.net app for android)

flashlight (torch app)

dictionary.com (good app for if you like doing crosswords)

mytracks (gps app that uses google maps but will cache them if you don't have data connected)

titanium backup (app backup)

my backup (data backup)

estrong file explorer

astro file manager

IMDB (internet movie database app. good for finding out actors names and what else they have been in if you just can't remember)

barcode scanner (good for getting apps of the computer if they aren't in market)

and a few games such as hangman and solitaire

there is no point having it. it can slow things down. unlike a windows computer system, when apps are running in the background they are idle. they don't take up any processor speed. if you kill required background apps that are used by other apps then when you use that app it will go slow while it opens up the closed app, or it will not work.

also having an app running all the time to keep other apps closed is somewhat counter productive.

yeah don't use taskmanager apps. on an android phone having a full memory is a good thing. just make sure you don't have shit apps that are poorly coded and ping the internet or poll your GPS etc when not in use.

high memory usage - good, high processor usage - bad.

You learn something new every day, i assumed it was same as windows and kill the apps all the time.

Task killer dosnt run all the time, when it kills all the other apps it kills its self as well.

a lot of apps that are killed by task killer simply start straight back up after they are closed. i think some task killers keep them permanently closed, but to do this they have to stay running in the background.

i have a performance manager on my phone (was part of the 2.1 rom i installed). it shows the RAM and CPU usage of each app. there are plenty using 5 or 6mb of RAM but 0% CPU. system at idle with widgets on screen and plenty of background apps currently running is about 2%

how come every 'best Android apps' site on the net recommends task killers?

i am getting shitty battery life out of my xperia x10 (32% last night at midnight, put it on sleep when i went to sleep, and 8 hours later it was dead)

Has anyone used a2sd and partitioned there sd card so it adds extra internal space?

Its doing my head in trying to find a tutorial that is easy to follow and works, every one is different, and most are written by someone who knows exactly what there doing for people who have donw it before and have progamming experience.

depends on whether you actually need it or not. i have a reasonable amount of apps installed and i have nearly 87mb left of the 512mb of internal memory.

I have f**k all apps and i have had to delete some to get back above 4meg left.

what sort of phone do you have? do you have a lot of emails and texts on your phone? i think they get saved to phone memory and not the SD card, so if you have emails with attachments you don't need, delete them. it should only delete them off the phone and not from the email account itself. also may be worth making sure that the camera isn't saving pics to the internal memory (don't think it can, but worth checking).

yeah that's not on my phone.

fully charged just after midnight, got up 8-9 hours later and it was 94%. Much better than before

apparently the xperia battery life gets better after a few chrages. it also appears that as you pointed out they don't have the battery manager like some others do. there is also one major app that seems to be common amoungst people talking about causes of poor battery life, and that is Moxier. it's mentioned in this link (number 2) so it appears that in your case an app killer may actually be beneficial to battery life

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
    • and it ends up being already priced in as though you're just on 91RON without any ethanol. Car will lose a bit of economy as the short and long term fuel trims bring down the AFR back to stoich or whatever it is for cruise/idle for the engine.
