Also just a small heads up :P Put aside $100-$200 for an upcoming group buy that I hope people will be interested in. Something that I have been trying to organise for about a month now and finally I found a supplier in the US! Just waiting on a price but hoping it will be quite good (nearly half of what they are worth in Aus).

More info soon!

Just did some 6k's in my skyline last week, and some in my brothers Mazda SP 3, look great, very nice. 5k is about white, 6k gives the smallest bitta blue, but still gives the perfect clarity and vision. And generally seems not to get too many people pissed off at ya. I had more people get annoyed with my fog lights on, on my Pulsar than they have with the HID's on my Skyline.

I'd not recommend above 6k. Only go for 5k or 6k lights.

I got mine from http://www.point-blank.com.au/ (via ebay - links on their page any way). Great Phillips globes in these kits, and come in EVERY type at EVERY different colour temp.

lol ^

yeah what he said, it's very rare you'll have issues with minor modifications like this as long as you don't draw attention to yourself. Piss a cop off and expect him to throw the book at you. Don't do anything stupid and be polite if you get police attention, and you'll get away with a lot of things.

I always like to point out that I got around for quite some time with no front number plate. like 8 months. also all my windows had 5% tint (could NOT see inside at any time). ALSO had the HID's. the ONLY time I got any attention at all, was when I dropped a friend off for her formal. Vehicle inspectors in the carpark just after dropoff asked why I had no front plate and let me off with a verbal warning.

I can also say now that the other week I was pulled up for doing "a bit more" than 90 in an 80 zone. Was very polite and honest with the officer, he let me off. didn't even get "I'm going to give you a warning" or anything, just told me to be safe and slow down. Attitude goes a long way, as well as respect. Don't be a douchebag and respect police officers, and you shouldn't ever have any issues. I'm yet to cop anything for my car's appearance etc :P

It's good to see common sense isn't dead, and this train of thought still exists!

Regarding the HIDS there was this black r33 with L plates that had these ridiculously blue lights (12k ?) that just scattered everywhere! I get in front and bam massive blindness from the back and in my mirrors. Is this due to not having projectors ?

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
