Hey,

Have been driving my 26/30 for nearly a year now, and there have never been any oil issues.

Just noticed this morning that even after warm up and the 30k drive to work, the pressure wont drop below 7kg/cm2. Usually starts up at 8 and then after warmed up drops down to 3-4 kg/cm2.

This engine has never been flogegd (redline set at 6800rpm), and is driving on a comfortable 10PSI. Car makes about 310 RWKW on 10PSI.

Just wondering if the oil pressure is genuinely high, will this cause any problems??

I have checked oil, plenty in sump.

negligible blow by from rocker covers. Also no excess in cam covers

Water temp is fine, and oil temps dont seem to be elevated when i check.

If this is an issue, where shold i be looking to fix it up.

Thanks in advance guys

What pump are you running?

The only real issue that could arise is your turbo seals if you havent restricted oil flow to it. If thats all good then dont worry, as the relief valve is inside the engine and too hard to get too to try and adjust. If that is even a problem, could just be your standard ops sender as stated above.

If you really want to be sure, tee in a oil pressure gauge and find out.

Running an N1 , and a GT3582, so when we built the engine, the appropriate restrictor was fitted to the oil feed.

This is a new problem, over the last week - however given taht i dont seem to be consuming any oil, i figure i may just wait until I rebuild the car in 6 months to race.

Thanks for teh help

high oil pressure is your friend - mine does exactly the same & recommended by my tuner & many others that know their stuff!

how else would you expect the oil to enter high tolerance areas such as bearings :ermm:

310rwkw @ 10 psi doesnt really add up

Sorry miss-typed should be 15PSI - Dyno graphs are posted in Hybrid section.

The whole point of the question was - given that my oil pressure has previously sat at 4-6 kg/cm2, was the fact that it is now at 7-8kg/cm2 indicative of a problem, or a faulty OPS.

Popular opinion is taht its not an issue and just a shot OPS.

LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
